The Misinformed Actions of Anti Natural Gas Activists

For those of us who have been participating in the natural gas debate over the last few years, talking with anti natural gas folks can feel like you’ve been placed in a scene from the movie “My Girl.” It’s a classic from my childhood and one I loved and still love to watch, but let’s face it, Veda’s method of dealing with hard times and things she doesn’t want to hear wasn’t the most constructive behavior. Yet, in this discussion, I often feel like I’m watching an adolescent stick their…

Faulty EWG/PSE Hydraulic Fracturing Claims Debunked New Part II

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Physicians, Scientists and Engineers for Healthy Energy (PSE) released a ten point document criticizing the SGEIS.  This is the second part in a two part series examining that document which serves as an example of why environmental activists are having difficulty maintaining support in New York.

They say that necessity is the mother of all invention, watching the debate over natural gas development in New York it becomes apparent…

Truthland Heads Out to Josh Fox's "Backyard"

No, Truthland hasn’t been shown in New York City, at least not officially, although a recent fear-inducing endeavor by Fox leads us to believe it’s certainly being watched in the Big Apple. This screening, co-sponsored by the Northern Wayne Property Owner’s Alliance and Energy Citizens, took place at the Beach Lake Fire Hall in Wayne County, about four miles away from the Fox family property (his father owns it). Around 100 people came out to watch the movie and get their questions answered…

Vote 4 Energy, Vote 4 New York Landowners

July 15, 2012 | Vote4Energy Rally Broome Tioga Sports Center, 50 Schaffer Road, Richford, NY 13835

On July 15 landowners and industry will be joining together for the largest  pro-natural gas rally in New York state. Landowners have spent four years waiting for Albany to allow the harvesting of our deeded rights. While we have been waiting, we have witnessed a fear mongering campaign that exceeds Y2K and the great Alar scare combined.  Yet, we’ve kept on correcting…

Truthland, the Gasland Antidote Arrives!

Like many who grew up in the Upper Delaware River valley, the mere mention of Gasland has grated on me like Roseanne Barr singing the national anthem. It’s not just the facts he got wrong or the truth he distorted. You expect that sort of thing from Josh Fox and it didn’t take long for Energy In Depth and several others to correct the record on the flaming Colorado faucet, Dunkard Creek and the rain rot present on some of the animals pictured. No, what was so offensive was the sheer…

Lets Keep Developing Marcellus Gas in Pennsylvania!

2009 was a boom year for Marcellus shale gas exploration. Will the good times continue in 2010?

For Pennsylvanians, shale gas exploitation is jumpstarting the economy of the chronically depressed northern regions of the Commonwealth. Jobs, lease fees and associated gas industry spending are already giving the region’s economy a much-need boost.

Benefits of shale gas production are not limited to Pennsylvanians; all Americans stand to gain from the gas bonanza.… Continue
