Three layers of shale, Upper Devonian, Marcellus and Utica.  Looks exciting for Beaver County.

And the yellow isn't the boundry of the differing areas, just where Range has lots of acreage. I'm sure we are in the heart of it as far as NGLs go, now oil is another story that will play out as they explore all three shales.

• The peak 24-hour test rate of the well in the super-rich area was 1,266 barrels of liquids per day (50% condensate, 50% NGLs) and 6.4 Mmcf per day of natural gas.  This well had a lateral length of 4,137 feet and was completed with 19 frac stages.  Assuming 85% ethane extraction, the test results would have been 1,714 barrels of liquids per day (35% condensate, 65% NGLs) and 5.6 Mmcf of natural gas per day. 

• The peak 24-hour test rate of the first wet well was 1,046 barrels of liquids per day (34% condensate, 66% NGLs) and 9.7 Mmcf per day of natural gas.  This well had a lateral length of 2,375 feet and was completed with 14 frac stages.  Assuming 85% ethane extraction, the test results would have been 1,783 barrels of liquids (20% condensate, 80% NGLs) and 8.4 Mmcf of natural gas. 

• The peak 24-hour test rate of the second wet well was 1,032 barrels of liquids per day (39% condensate, 61% NGLs) and 8.8 Mmcf per day of natural gas.  This well had a lateral length of 3,425 feet and 22 frac stages.  Assuming 85% ethane extraction, the test rate would have 1,700 barrels of liquids (24% condensate, 76% NGLs) and 7.7 Mmcf of natural gas per day. 

FYI guys, these peak flow numbers > Carroll County's Mangun and Neider Utica well results released by Chesapeake.

Any idea what kind of monthly royalty per acre landowners are receiving?

Unfortunately the only well that I have definitive numbers on is the Thompson Well in S Beaver. I've seen the check stub. They claim it is like 99% dry gas with a few barrels of oil. The monthly rates worked out to    Aug $71/acre  Sept $78/acre and Oct $41/acre with oct volume produced about 2/3 less than the previous month. They could be storing oil and not selling...they could have learned from their first well here(thompson well) and know how to get the good stuff in other wells now. Of course another scenario is that they are going to get oil and or NGL's in a different formation(s) all together. Who knows?????   CHK probably does but they ain't telling : )

You do know that there are 2 CHK permits in our area to drill into the Marcellus?.....both from the same pad as another well into the Utica.

Do you know how many condensate tanks are on the Thompson property? I bet you are correct that they are storing and not selling the fluids/oil right away. It's like a good poker player with strategy.
I drive from 18/22 to my grandparents in Finleyville weekly and along 980 near McDonald there is a new well (< 8 months In production). It sits high on a hill and has six very large green tanks still there. I believe this is in the super rich area of the Range map. It's hard to judge the true size of the tanks and their capacity - but I'd estimate they are no less than 30-40 feet tall of not taller.

Has the proper pipeline been put into place?  If not, then CHK cannot sell the NGL's and, therefore, can not make the royalty payments for the NGL's.

I don't know about the Thompson well but I can see the tanks at the Tharp well from my house, and there are 6 tanks there. Tharp hasn't started production yet though because there is no pipeline in place, but it looks like they started on the pipeline construction yesterday. I'm in both the Tharp and Burdick units so I can report results once things start flowing.

They must have got the all the folks lined up for that leg of the pipeline from Tharp to Thompson. Fwiw the pipeline project of the gathering system is called The North Beaver Pipeline. 

Good news on the pipeline being started....I hope.

John,

Today (friday March 3rd) I was out on state line road and a tremendous thundering noise was heard for some time which seemed to be coming from the Tharp or Burdick direction. It sounded like thrust from a very large jet engine. Did you hear it, know  where it originated or what was going on? 

The last time I heard something like that it was the fracking crews  making the noise, so maybe they are fracking the burdick?

Please keep us posted on what appears to be the pipeline from Tharp to the Thompson unit. It is supposed to be joined by a pipeline from Burdick as it continues on the he thompson site.

I think I may have been wrong about the pipeline. I saw some activity at the Tharp site Monday evening (they brought in the floodlights), and this was the first activity there since November. This coincided with some construction signs on Wildwood closer to Burdick that said "UTILITY WORK AHEAD", so I assumed that they may have had a couple of crews working, one connecting Burdick to Tharp and one from Tharp to Thompson.

Well when I got up to get my daughter a bottle at 1:30 AM Wed, I was suprised to see that they were flaring Tharp again (they flared it the first time Thanksgiving day). As of this morning, they were still flaring, so that may have been what you heard.

But I have seen a few tankers coming from Burdick the past few weeks, and have been expecting the fracking soon. I'll let you know if they have started that as well when I get home this evening.
