Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

One word of warning - I can tell you that what's publicly available on the Utica in Tioga County isn't necessarily accurate - there is very little good data that's not being held confidentially. Look how many modern wells have actually been drilling into the Utica in this part of the state, and it's a small number. What you see that's public is all broad-brush generalizations from scattered data in the region. Unlike the Marcellus, which had been drilled many times by wells seeking the Oriskany, the Utica has seen little drilling over the years. It's still interesting reading and directionally correct, but you wouldn't bet money on it being accurate in any specific area.
That DCNR web sight is new updated info good stuff. Now we know what Shell is drilling for.
Paleface: Shell is drilling for something positive to put in their next quarterly report?
Yeah, there is some good activity in the area, but progress is slow. Hope is still alive.
Half a century at least? I'm sure something will happen for you to benefit yet Tom.
Jack good advice,we're taking it slow and cautious the only change we made so far was the Middlebury girls softball team we renamed them The Utica Wildcats.
I'm new to this guys. Shell just made an offer to renew our lease...$300 per acre and 1/8th royalty. Should I accept it or not? Are the $3k an acre days over? I am not currently in a unit...missed it by 200 yards. Live 1/4 mile from the Chappell pad on Ridge Rd. in Middlebury Twp.
Is there a time frame in which to accept or not accept the new lease? There is nothing written in the letter about a date or anything that they want it by.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
