Comment by Bobby on May 19, 2012 at 6:48am I had been told by several people that it is a service rig; not a drilling
rig.
Comment by Finnbear on May 18, 2012 at 11:39pm It's not active, it's parked inside the fence at Basin Tool. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow when I go by there. Going to a wedding over at Wooster and will go past the rig on the way there.
Comment by Marcus Grayson on May 18, 2012 at 2:48pm I can't find any active rig under that name yet.
Comment by Finnbear on May 17, 2012 at 9:55pm Anyone else see the "Mercer Drilling" rig sitting at the old Riceland Cabinet facility (now Basin Tool) at Rt 30 and Kansas Rd? Any idea where it is headed or who they are drilling for?
Comment by Finnbear on May 11, 2012 at 11:29am There is now an Ashland County group available.

Comment by Finnbear on May 3, 2012 at 9:59am The Medina well is being prepared for fracking. This is the well head.
Water lines are being laid this week and 8 new tanks showed up.
This picture shows 3 lines coming to/from a pond on the farm. One line comes from the creek on the west side of Richman Rd. and goes to a pond on the east side of the road. There are 2 pumps at the pond to the east of the well pad and those two lines go to the well pad from the pond. Looks like they will be pumping water from the creek to the pond and using it as a reservoir for fresh water for the frack job. Sorry the pic is so bad, it was taken from the road with a cell phone and where the water lines end at the pumps beside the pond to the right of the house is near 1/2 mile off the road.
Comment by J.Smith on May 3, 2012 at 12:47am Mohican River Energy Holdings LLC has retained Meagher Energy Advisors to sell certain Utica shale leasehold in Ohio.
The package includes 100% working interest (80% net revenue interest) in 2,714 gross and net acres in Ashland and Wayne counties, with 1,293 acres covering all depths and approximately 62% of the acreage held by production. The assets are within the oil and wet ga-producing windows of the Utica and are surrounded by major Utica players, including Devon Energy Corp. and Chesapeake Energy Corp. to the west and north of the Mohican
Comment by Marcus Grayson on May 2, 2012 at 11:24pm I should have specified that the first well appears to be a bust. I shouldn't write off an entire county because of that. Apologies for my broad generalization. Medina probably has potential but the lack of activity seems to indicate geological issues.
