Potter-McKean

This is the PA side of what was formerly the 4-County Group which was also comprised of NY counties Allegany and Cattaraugus.  Still working together to achieve optimum leasing results, at this time NY Gov. Cuomo continues to keep the Southern Tier out of the running.  4-County is working w/Snowbelt on the NY side, and striving solely for Potter-McKean members on the PA side ... hence 2 names for 1 Group.See More

"You're absolutely correct that a Letter of Surrender is needed, but your form has a couple glitches.  Can the tracking number be written in after one has rec'd a receipt for a certified letter?  I would suggest never including…"

Janice L. Hancharick replied to Mengliu Lu's discussion 'Interested in leasing Utica in PA'
"Jon, More companies are interested in McKean- Potter than you can imagine.  Interest was sparked @ the NAPE meetings  (first one in Houston for all shale plays and 2nd one in Pittsburgh just for  Marcellus/Utica).  Out of…"

" Jack,  I do not agree w/your assumption that prices will be lower than they were for the Marcellus a few years ago. Remember they began @$3 AC and soared to $500 AC. 4-County has established the opening bid in the thousands for…"

"Gentlemen:  You have brought up a subject that many in our region were unaware of ... the Letter of Surrender.  Although it has been mentioned before on other sites and media, info like that needs to be out there often.  Thank you. If…"

"Small Groups = more independent manageability, better negotiation possibilities. Also - with 'organizing' - would it be wisest to also set up discussions on HOW to 'handle' any monies...such as how to prepare for trust situations…"

"GG, As I've stated before, the way to deal with old leases is to wait like the cat waiting for the mouse. Sooner or later the o&g companies will come around and ask for an amendment to the lease. Land owners should say no and ask for a…"

"GG, Yes I see a predatory manner to the operations of the oil and gas companies. My reason for responding to this thread is that companies such as CX/MP also act in a predatory manner. The sad part is that they act as the friend of the land owner,…"

To protect the environment, maximize the benefits, pay-outs, and lifestyle protections of OGM holders & their neighbors in a four county region, I initiated and continue to coordinate the 4-County Leasing Group ... (Potter & McKean in PA, Cattaraugus and Allegany in NY) Prior to Marcellus/Utica shale activity I have spent a lifetime with extended and immediate family involvement in drilling for and the production of gas, oil,& water... and 32 yrs. in education. A public that understands the nature of this business will make good choices.
