Does anyone know what the smallest unit a company will drill? I have 240 acres and they are going to put the rig on my property. But i dont think anyone else around has a lease signed that i know of. So is 240 acers enough for them to drill the permits already have been issued?

Permalink Reply by Nelson Roe on November 30, 2011 at 11:05am I am referring to horizontal wells also. But so far, they have only drilled one horizontal lateral at each location. If/when the O&G company decides to add more laterals, they may at that time expand the unit. That is yet to be seen. But if you do an internet search for the Buell well in Harrison County, Ohio, you should be able to find some preliminary production #'s & I believe that it was drilled on either 144 or 177 acres. Can't remember exactly.

It's so easy to find with the DEP.
Here's the one for WV.

Then go to the Search permits, then put your county and Marcellus in.
