Today Carrizo Oil & Gas announced that it is entering the Utica Shale Play by way of a Joint Venture with Avista Capital Partners. There are 15,000 acres involved and Carrizo is paying $1,500 per  acre for ONLY 10% interest. You do the math. What would the value per acre be for 100% interest?

Didn't CHK also use Carbon Dioxide on the Milton Well??  Does this increase production? Also saw another article on CO2

CO2 injection has been a mainstay in the industry for some years now. They use the CO2 essentially as a lubricant. When mixed with oil it increases viscosity and helps cleave the oil from the source rock. CO2 is usually used several years after the effects of the water flood have worn off. Here's a link to the API study that covers the topic:http://www.gwpc.org/e-library/documents/co2/API%20CO2%20Report.pdf

It's a little dry but it may help you.

If you haven't looked at this site lately, you might want to read some new Utica articles. See the link...

Looks like there have been some entries removed from the list... I wonder why?  Gulfport is no longer showing on there...  The Guernsey co. section has shrank & so has Noble.  I thought initially maybe it was some of the older permits falling off, but Gulfport was permitted fairly recently... Any thoughts?

I noticed that today also. I hadn't looked at the ODNR for several weeks and I was surprised by all the missing entries. I hope they get this thing working well, I would like to stay up with the activity.

By the way, has anyone else driven by St. Clairesville and seen the Well that is west of there? It had a massive flame burning on it about 2 weeks ago. Is it a Horizontal?
