I found an article online that covers some of the issues regarding land use. I know that this topic can be very complex, but this article is written by lawyers and make to be "reader friendly". New here and found this site by googling.  I have about 9 acres of land in Cherry township.  I haven't been contacted yet, but curious how to or who to contact about leasing my land (or at least to get information on leasing).  This has probably been brought up before in all these comments, so forgive me if this is a repeat.  Any direction or suggestions are appreciated.

Just joining the group.  Have 18 1/2 acres in Parker Township.  Was under contract with Snyder Bros. for 4 years.  That expired this month and am looking as to what options I have.  Thanks,

Do the negotiations include access to the Utica Shale or only the Marcellus?  I noted that some are seeing the Utica as a separate opportunity from a leasing standpoint.  In addition the Utica could potentially contain more liquids and possibly some oil. Either would be higher in value than dry gas. Rex has apparently completed a successful Utica gas well near Muddy Creek in Butler County.

Cathy  Thanks...  Is the 18% on new leases or renewals?  Does it really matter if its a new or a renewal?  I am near the Seneca Valley School District and only have 18 acres and REXX is the gas company in this area.  I hear Northern Butler County is paying more money???  Thanks again.. Randy

google, Butler county Pa deeds ,open, go to deeds then simple search. type Phillps or Blx or Pc production, open large no deeds, find out where leases are in your area .This might help you to see where these companies are concentrating. We deserve better leases, It seems like all these Companies are Carpet baggers for Exxon!
