We filled out the contact information sheet and are a little puzzled as to why we are mailing it to Arkansas if we are interested in a local Crawford County landowner group involving Pennsylvania and/or Ohio property owners in the surrounding counties. Can anybody clarify this for us.
We have tried the e-mail address that Mr. Kareha provided but to no avail.
Just my opinion, but don't be in a rush to sign. The landowners group in Lawrence County started out with offers in the $400/acre range a year 1/2 ago. They ended up getting $3k/acre +17% gross royalties last month. That also included SW Mercer County. I’m not saying you can pull it that amount, but $50/acre and 12.5% royalties are not life changing numbers. Come on now….12.5%?? That is the state mandated minimum! They are “giving” you nothing. I have heard rumors of offers in the Jackson Center area for $2250/acre + 15% royalties. Stay organized and educated.
I am glad to see our group growing. New menbers will bring us new knowledge. It is information about landowner groups like the one just introduced by Randy Kareha that I have been looking for. I have learned a little abot the process from a co-worker who is in a landowners group near Leeper, PA. Landmen have been approaching people in my area to lease gas, mineral and oil rights for next to nothing. I have been encouraging anyone I know to join our group, to get informed, and not be in any hurry to sign with the first Landman who comes around offering a little money. There is obviously strength in numbers (numbers of acres) and we need to stick together. They would like to "pick us off" before we have a chance to get informed and form land owners groups.
The bickerning between reps. in neighboring counties is almost entertaining. To my knowledge, only lowball lease offers are in Crawford County (correct me if i'm wrong). I guess we'll have to sit back and wait for the offers to come in.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
