I would talk to Lana Boyer. She had a similar lease in 2006. She can poin you in the right direction. She formed the Lana Boyer group in Lawrence county. Her number is in the book but she also runs daydream tours in wampum.

I should also add that if you own land in Beaver County contact Mason Dixon Energy to lease your land to Chesapeake.

Here is a heads up for everyone. Shell formerly East Resources is going to open leasing back up before memorial day. Offers should be 1500 per and 15% royalties according to my source there.

Good news for mineral rights owners in Lawrence County; Chesapeake is continuing their discussions with more landowners in the southern half of the county. Quoted as telling one that the $1600-2000/15% offers are too low. Let's see where this goes. Gotta love free market competition.

Joe Lawrence, attorney, and Dana Rizzo, Penn State Water Quality Specialist, will both present the latest on lease contract legal issues and water issues on Oct. 7, 2010, 6:00 - 8:30 PM. This Penn State Extension Marcellus Shale meeting will be held at Jameson South, 1000 S. Mercer St., New Castle. Please pre-registration at 724-654-8370 - $10 at the door to help offset direct costs.

There seems to be a shift in strategy. First-hand reports are that Chesapeake has come into southern Lawrence County and countered East's offer to some landowners with a $2000/15% offer. Now things might get interesting!

There is a law firm from Washington County forming a group in Southern Lawrence county and North Beaver county. They are Joseph Edward Morascyzk and Jacob S. Polochak. I am not endorsing them just fyi only.
