East has drilled many wells in Shippen and Delmar townships over the past 2-3 years and there IS NO pipeline, so no one here is getting royalties yet. They just keep drilling and capping them.

I know there is an awful lot of drilling AND pipeline activity in the Covington area. Don't know if any of the lines are actually finished and running yet. There is a new line going in as we speak, N-S across Cherry Flats rd., coming north from the state wells north of Arnot and heading towards the wells in Covington.

There is also a massive amount of drilling going on in Ward Twp. and there have been many gathering lines put in place there as well - again, don't know if any of them connect up with a main line yet.

there are several wells by seneca that are on line and my neighbors are recieving royalties... coming from the detweiler wells and the wivel and pino wells... they are all my neighbors!!!! also there are a few east wells in the whitneyville area that are pumping with royalties being generated from the avery well and another one in that area.

Hmmm. East has all these wells in the ground and many more either permited or potential, but apparently very few acctualy bringing them in revenue. How do you run a business like that - all expense and no profit? How long does it last?

josie I agree that could be about the only reason for east to do business the way they are.I keep watching to see if they get bought out.

Brian, there is also the on-going concern for gas companies to drill wells before their leases run out. I think they have to drill and move to the next property and let the gathering lines follow (like a Maple Bush) just so they don't lose leases. I heard a presentation from Newfield (working with Hess) and they drilled wells all over the place in Oklahoma (Woolford Shale, I believe) because they had a small window of opportunity created by the lease language for that area. In most leases, if you hit gas and then cap the well, it holds the lease in place, even if the gathering lines don't ship it to market for a long time.

We may find wells all over the place in the next 7 years so that leases don't expire, but only a small percentage actually pumping gas because of over supply of natural gas. That is why it is important to work on the demand side to improve markets (natural gas fleets, electric generation plants, etc.).

You are 100% right drill it, worry about pipeline later, they also need to see how large compressor station is needed.

In Chatham Township, there is a suitable "high pressure" gas line that was put in many years ago. Once upon a time, large storage facilities had been proposed south of Nelson. The storage wells were to be desolved down into a salt area and the salt brine dehydrated for the salt. Most of this never happened, but the line was put in place for filling or withdrawing from these future tanks. How much of this gossip is completely true, I won't judge, but the line is there. It also runs through Farmington Township I think. It crosses the county north of Holiday also. The Cummins well complex is very close to that line. East supposedly has a permit to lay the pipe and connect to the line for the Cummins wells. Gossip says that it takes 6 months to get a permit for pipeline in a township or for a certain length. Any more concrete information on pipeline permiting and current status in various areas would be helpful to everyone with leases about to run out. Anyone informed about this body of information out there?
The feeder line from the Cummins wells is supposed to extend on down the valey toward Keeneyville. It is anybody's guess how long that project will take.

Do you know what a storm water facility is? I don't. I guess we will know if there truly is any gas worth having in the area before long. Would you happen to know if the land owners who signed for the pipeline right-of-way were between the Cummins well and the pipeline tap or perhaps on some line to be laid in the future to transport gas from future wells?

I am also on the rlstore site. I am surprised that these O & G people cannot get it through their heads that Pa. is full of wetlands issues. I guess they have spent too much time in more arid regions of the country. East aught to know who's leases run out already. You would think a company that is spending so much money for leases would have a better handle on the significant dates of those leases. It is neat to hear you describing those old roads and family names. I live in Wyoming and have been here for nearly a decade. Every Suday in the fall ment a scratch football game in Little Marsh or Keeneyville - full tackle and no pads. Summers usually meant some baseball or softball. Someday, my ghost, along with the Graves, Ferrises, Williams, and Neils will haunt those places.

Actually, I graduated from Wellsboro in 1977. Having grown up in Keeneyville, I had freinds on both sides of the ridge so to speak. Wellsboro had a championship football team one year, so we farm boys invited the team to come down to Middlebury School after their season ended to play without pads. A good time was had by all, but Wellsboro didn't fair too well. a year or two later, Wellsboro got its revenge. most of us got too old and couldn't aford the broken collar bones anymore.
