McMasters well was started fracking on Feb. 25th.

Anyone know if they are going to flair the well soon?

If the timeline for the Wall well is any indication , You won't see any flaring til mid-late May.

The Wall was fraced late Jan. and just now a rig is back , In preparation for flaring I think.

Ok its June any news on when they will flair the well ..or are they waiting for the sale of southern Beaver county leases?

This Vertical well permit was just issued on 9/16/13.  Is this a pilot hole??

Todd, This is mostly conjecture, but here's what a few of us think these V wells are:    They are going to go down to the bottom most formation that might have potential for our area. They will record data on the way down. Then they will decide which formation they are going to drill the first horizontal in. At that time I bet they have to file for a permit to drill the horizontal. I noticed that just before they started drilling on the Pa State Gamelands out on Blackhawk road recently, they filed to drill deeper at that well. I suspect they are still trying to figure out the best formation to drill to at this time.

We also think that they will be using multiple formations from that one hole.

Heck theoretically, they could even plug a dry gas horizontal, when the price of dry gas goes south,  and drill a horizontal to another formation using the same vertical that might be wet gas or super rich or whatever. Remember, anything they can do to lower the production costs is icing on the cake for them. One vertical with horizontals added in time, or other formations added, could probably produce hydrocarbons for decades and decades...... at a low cost of production.

Just my thoughts, fwiw

Thanks Craig, Your knowledge and input is appreciated. Still waiting for Seitel on this farm. They said they would be here this Summer and have not shown.  Patience ......  ha ha ha ...   Easier said.... when you are Young...  I still find this whole thing... Exciting !

Nancy - they've been all over my farm the past three weeks. I had to call their office in beaver as they weren't honoring my 24 hour notice prior to being on my ground.
Office worker said charges will be set off between Nov 1-14th. My check came last week- your's?
Next year this time - someone around us will be getting a pad. And I've measured 3 acres from a pad close to me from Google Earth, 300'x500'.
Hope it's my field.
Best of luck.

Jason,  Well, Guess who called me today ?  Yes, Seitel !  They are sending a man out to my farm this Thursday to survey where everything is.  Meaning Ponds, springs, creeks, house, barn, sheds well.  The man I talked to is Jerimy White. (sp?) So far, all have been very pleasant and nice to talk to . I did mention about the 24 hour Notice thing.. I have not been given a check yet for the testing. At this point... I would much rather have Seitel on my property than Chesapeake. Seitel was concerned about if it rains they would cancel because they didn't want to make ruts in the grass with their run a bout.  I find this very refreshing !    Good Luck to you in the future !

Nancy - Seitel in the area means we have what they want under us.
The fact that CHK still has our leases means that we're still theirs. I have heard that Chk wants beaver county from Ohio river north (but mcmasters is slightly south of that line and they drilled last year... Have heard from numerous people that Range is paying the Seitel company to do the shoot.
I am glad to hear they are extending into Greene twp.
The 24 hour notice is something I wanted for protection. I think everyone should be told when they're land is being accessed.
Best of luck - btw - I was told my land would be tested between Nov 1-14th. You're probably a month behind that date.
Jason

Here is the Vertical well plan for McMaster 1V..anybody know why there are references to the Freeport Coal seam?

Attachments:

Thanks Gary for the well plat!

The coal seam is referenced by the operator due to DEP guidelines because drilling these wells so close together sterilizes the coal seam... it is no longer feasible to mine coal in a drilling pad location.

Todd
