I read just a few lines in GASFRAC's press release of 11/14/14 that says:
"GASFRAC has just commenced fracturing its first well in the Utica Shale formation. A number of exploration and production companies have an ownership interest in this well and are closely monitoring the project with the potential for GASFRAC to perform fracturing services on other wells in the Utica Shale formation."

Now today I read some comments made by EV Energy Partners saying:
"In other news EV Energy Partners said production could begin in December on a much watched Utica oil well in Tuscarawas County. The company drilled the experimental well with eight other industry partners Walker(company's executive chairman) said. "This is a test of what could be EnerVest and EVEP's most valuable asset in the Utica," he said. Getting oil from the Utica shale has proven to be difficult for drillers to date. That well near Uhrichsville is being hydraulically fractured or fracked with liquid butane and mineral oil. That should be complete in two weeks. "We're excited but cautious as we are bringing new technology to bear in this process," said company president and CEO Mark Houser. "We are in the middle of the completion operations and have completed five of the 20 (fracking) stages so far."

I have no data on the Nettle well, but based on other wells that used hydrocarbon based frac fluids, in general initial production is higher than with water based fracs, but decline is higher (late life production is lower).
The higher initial production is due to improved clean up (fractures don't need to be cleaned from water). The lower later life production usually comes because the overall volume of these fracs is lower (water is so much cheaper and a bigger volume can be pumped). The smaller volume leads to a smaller overall stimulated rock volume and therefore worse drainage of the reservoir.
Again this is just general experience from a few years back and it doesn't mean it has to be the case for this well (these fracs might have comparable fluid volumes to water based fracs, I don't know)
Correct, more stages will most of the time mean more initial production and in most cases also more long term production.
This is true for water or butane or any other frac fluid.
It all comes down to a question of cost vs. incremental production and the high costs of GasFrac have been a problem in the past (but maybe this is no longer an issue).
Joe, my friend at the factory has ben hearing chatter in the field that Halliburton is the buyer. he also said the nettels well is doing quite well production wise. I have some numbers but best not post them. might get someone fired.
joe I was involved in co2 fracks in the east canton Clinton field over 30 years ago.Halliburton did the fracks for belden blake wish I would have taken pictures. most of the time there were 2 transport tankers of co2 on site,but they did a job on schmuck farms using 20 transport loads of c02.it was a costly frack and the well turned out to be a dud. that was the last Clinton well drilled on the property back in 1986. there is a reason if they did buy gas frack why they did it and they probably got it dirt cheap.
evep pres , Mike Mercer, other day in a cc said CHK is doing an off-set to the Parker well with a butane/ mineral frac, --gasfrac is still functional to my knowledge,---( u can operate in vj ) with court approval,which they have-
Hello, my husband was taking his daily walk today and said that they were moving some of the gasfrac tankers from the nettle well today. i dont know where they were taking them but i think they were being stored at the nettle well, from a picture that i think that Tree farmer had posted on this sight about a month ago.
