From the research I did this morning it seems to me there would be a separate Christmas Tree for each lateral, but I'm not certain of that. They can spud the well with the conductor rig and come back to it later to finish it. I would assume the incomplete wells without a tree wouldn't need the hay bale protection. I think it's likely they only completed 4 laterals at the site if that's all the trees you & DMS see. It might be common practice to do that.

At the Renick pad they will have six horizontal permits but only plan to drill two horizontal wells according to their letter to Center Twp.

The well completion reports are not available yet for any wells at the Halterlein site.

From watching some of Swepi sites, they use "round bale hay rings" to protect or to keep away people from the wells.  I have only seen 4 at the Halterlein site, and I think 3 or 4 at the puryear site.  So if they spudded 11 wells at the Halterlein site, and only have 4 trees and 4 round bale rings, that's why I was wandering if they could put more then one lateral to a tree.

You're right, the permitting of the Halterlein Wells is odd. The DEP issued 18 permits, six of those permits are for two different wells on the same permit. Six of those wells were permitted after the last spud date of the rest of the wells. A total of seven wells have not been spudded yet.

The spud report shows 11 wells spudded, many of them on consecutive days. As stated in the Swepi letter to Center Twp I posted, they use three different rigs to drill these wells. Maybe they started all 11 of the wells with the conductor rig while they had it there, but only drilled laterals for some of those wells. It's complicated with so many wells so I attached the permit & spud report.

I don't know if more than one well can be connected to a tree. I will see if any well completion reports are available for the Halterlein site. That might provide some insight.

Oliver, what i find odd, is that according to the Dep Spud report, all 17 (without looking at the total) wells were spuded at the end of 2012.  As DMS stated, i was by the site a few months ago, and there was only 4 or 5 Christmas trees.  I think thats what they call the well head for gas wells.  Anyhow, i was going to ask you if you thought if it would be possible for them to hook more then one lateral up to each xmas tree?

Swepi started drilling at the Twentier Pad in Lawrence County last week. Maybe that rig came from the Halterlein Site? They will be back, I think there are 17 well permits issued for the Halterlein Site.

Does anyone know what the status is of the SWEPI Halterlein site?  It looks as though there 4 well heads, but they sure did pull out of there in a hurry??

I was just looking over the area South East of Butler along Saxonburgh road.   Along with the Holy Trinity Monestary units to the South and the Heasly unit to the North of Freeport road, it seems that XTO is planning another unit between Saxonburg Road and Freeport road.

 

Anyone have any idea of where the wells will be located??

Rex is only offering a delayed rental and 15% royalty with deductions. Anyone know of a good O&G lawyer that has dealt with Rex with any success?
