To J&J Luken - Oh to answear your second question, I am looking to lease my Marcellus. Because of going to the Penn State gas site and watching the webinar on how and why gas co's drill (((very informative)))), I've discovered the gas co's will need all landowners on board - even the small guys because of the drilling technique being used they need every acre signed or they will be stealing, so I hope when they go to drill in my area they will approach me but until then I don't think I will be approached.

to Mat M - I can only go on what was reported to me personally by people living in the Mansfield and Westifeld area/towns of Pa that I talk to on a regular basis, and the newspapers in that area are also reporting leases around $5000 an acre. To J&J Lukens - U are exactly correct - (((Campbells O&G(in the Bakerton town area - where my property is located, Cambria County, this site doesn't have a member group for Cambria yet))) has signed all my neighbors up promising shallow wells in which they have drilled 3 with in 2 miles but their leases didn't specify depth so there for the neighbors have given up their Marcellus with out researching what they have done and Campbells made out like bandits!!! Talking with some of the neighbors - I am the only one that put a restriction on the depth, seperating the Marcellus out and fear I am now a small island that won't have any interest by the gas co's bcs the gas co's have everything all around me. ALL LANDOWNERS BEWARE OF THIS SCAM - TRUST ME - DONT TRUST LANDMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan, thanks for your comment. Can you provide specifics on what is the "going rate for the Marcellus" and what Campbells O & G offerred? Thanks in advance.

Just joined in an attempt to keep up with the leasing activities in the area. Campbells O&G came through and signed up all my neighbors gas. I only signed my shallow to them because they would not pay the going rate for the Marcellus. Capped their drilling at 4900'. If anyone knows of interested parties looking to lease in the Cambria County area let my know - although I believe Campbells may have monopolized the Marcellus play.

Just joining up here to keep an eye on any Marcellus development in
the Mahaffey area - own currently leased lands just on the outskirts
of Mahaffey with one existing, fairly new "shallow" well.
