Muskingum/Licking County OH

Information

Muskingum/Licking County OH

With activity moving into Muskingum County and Licking County  it is time for we the effected by the Utica Shale Play to be better informed. As I live on the Muskingum/Licking county border is the reason for the combination. The group will be free to separate if someone in Licking County wants to run a separate county.

 Here you can post photos of what you might come across in the area. I'd kind of like to keep it limited to our area to prevent a overkill of photos. Jodi a member here is kind of a roving reporter,…Continue

Best I could come up with was by a county region without ordering a packet information. http://www.meagheroil.com/resources/project/Chesapeake%20Utica-Poin...

@J Wengert,

 I do agree with "... Milliston <sp?> stated Big Valley had an offer of 4500 an acre ..."

 But I do not agree with "... Anadarko just leased with Big Valley landowners group around Jackson Twp Coshocton ..."

 I think at the present time a lot of companies are waiting to see what the CHK leases that are up for sale soon do.

From what I gathered about these two goups is Southwest Coshocton landowners, and Big valley both being groups through Jim Milliston somehow cross territories in Jackson twp Coshocton. I attended swcla meeting last month. Milliston stated Big Valley had an offer of 4500 an acre, but never stated the company whom was interested. He mentioned the area was more "wet" as you go further east. The Hunt oil info was posted on the Coshocton group in which you created on this site. I would of liked to see that conversation move along but It just never went any further. As for details, hopefully someone can elaborate the agreement there ironing out, that attended the June 25th meeting.

@J Wengert,

"... Anadarko just leased with Big Valley landowners group around Jackson Twp Coshocton ...". But, I thought the core of the Big Valley group was around Dresden in Muskingum County (not in Coshocton county) ? Do have any details, like number of landowners and total acreage in Jackson Twp, Coshocton that signed and what were the TERMS?

I seen in another discussion in Coshocton county group a company by the name of Hunt oil out of Texas is in some type of negotiation in the Dresden area. Anadarko just leased with Big valley landowners group around Jackson Twp Coshocton, seems to be some movement all around us currently. Or maybe Devon is working the area more silently than we see.

Jim  in Granville? What do you think I am a laid off Black Ops security specialist? Lordy Granville , supposedly a free country I might be able to make it.

Hi Billy

I have asked who owns the mineral rights to the Granville Township “Green Space” and was advised the Licking County Commissioners would decide

I would like to drill/produce the oil and natural gas under the “Green Space” per HB 133 and generate some revenue

If Granville Township own the mineral rights then the Licking County Fracking Committee Best Practices could be useful

My friend, John, and I have asked if we could  present a pro-fracking point of view  at the next Green Society of Granville meeting and would like for you to attend-any interest?  The meetings are held at 7PM in the Granville Public Library-the date has not been set yet

Thx a lot

Hi Jim

 Thanks for the heads up on this. As you should know I am against the idea as I dislike the idea. Although it is 50/50  as to pro and con, one election of the elected officials and it could be very damaging real quick.

Politicians are way to quick to tax already and it allows another avenue for their desire for ego and greed. I further after seeing and studying the anti smoking movements saw a systematic method they employed to ban smoking on private property , surely they can employ the same tactics upon oil and gas.

 Most of the city dwellers view the Sierra Club as the nature group and the O&G as the big bad tobacco companies.

  One thing though I would demand is full disclosure of the meetings of this group, public meetings at times and dates where public input could be made,  if I were on this Committee.

  I would also like to see what limitations to the power this committee might have as well as the  legal liability they would have as well.

 A few ideas Jim Thanks for the heads up!
