I agree Cavalry, I was thrilled with the lease I got, and that was really most important. I'm almost 1 1/2 years into this 5 year lease. If I'm not in a producing well in 3 1/2 years, more good things will happen or I'm free to lease to someone else. If I am in a drilled unit, then that's probably even better. And the other landowner protections are wonderful as well. Get a great lease, through a good attorney, and make sure you have strict time limits built in.
I think everyone is quite happy with who they went with, the leases, and bonus. It doesn't matter who your neighbor went with and should have no bearing on who you sign with. Do your research and sign the best lease you can negotiate or your land group can negotiate. The oil and gas companies will then do some parcel "horse trading" to complete drilling units. Its the only way to get a "common" 600 acres.
I meant an acre. There were no landmen to deal with, only MNW who handled everything, even clearing back leases. I had no gripes at all.
$4250 and acre and 18 3/4 royalty and yes they are paying.
Curious what kind of bonus they got and if it was paid.
I'm at work though and busy day. I'll have to check back here later tonight.
People signed up with landmen? That doesn't sound good for the owners.
They are based in Marietta. Sat in a meeting with them and about 100 other land owners when they closed the 32000 acres. Check back issues of Marietta times, news release on Triad and the leases was reported
MNW isn't a name I'm familiar with. The company we signed with are drillers, backed by some serious New York cash.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
