Benzene, the Mayor of Dish, Texas, and his VACATION speaking tour of NY State

The subject has been broached here already, BENZENE IN DISH TEXAS! Oh My!

As one of many NY landowners I had to wonder what in the world brought this Mayor from a tiny town in Texas all the way to our area...on his own dime. He spoke at various places in recent days and always started his speech with the disclaimer that he was NOT paid as a Mayor, NOT paid by anyone to speak, and was on VACATION (oh, yeah) in the northeast.…

Pike two-year water study

By TOM KANE

MILFORD, PA — A two-year study of the Pike County watersheds and ground water resources reveals ground water resources of good quality and good quantity. The only negative concern centered on the amount of radioactive radon that is exceeding normal levels in 75 percent of the testing wells. Radon is the second-leading cause of cancer in the nation.

The survey, which was…

Recommended Natural Gas Well Construction Techniques for Pennsylvania

Because of the recent interest in the Marcellus Shale in PA, there has been a significant increase in drilling of deep natural gas production wells. One of the primary concerns or issues is Pennsylvania, would be the potential for these wells to impact surrounding freshwater wells. Since most of these freshwater wells are wells that are classified as private or unregulated wells and these wells are typically constructed with no minimal construction standard, a primary concern for developing…

Getting Your Water Tested – Why? The Need for Baseline Testing

Getting Your Water Tested – Why?

In Pennsylvania, there are no statewide regulations that truly guarantee that a private well is properly constructed and that the water from the well is potable, i.e., drinkable. In Pennsylvania and other states, a private well is not defined as a public water supply system and not regulated by the PADEP or EPA. There are some counties in Pennsylvania that do provide some regulatory oversight with respect to the siting, construction, and…

Landowners Group

Just signed up with a landowners group to represent the group for the best deal.

As they explained, they will present to the gas companies interested and see

what offers they get.

The only connection that they have is a 15% cut of the landowners $....nothing

else...They will get the group together for a question/answer session, and get

a contract and go from there.

They are optomistic for $3800.00 an acre over 5 years and whatever for royalties.

ProPublica and its' followers (NY H2O, Damascus Citizens, Earth Justice, etc etc) WHO ARE THEY REALLY?

If you are a landowner who is interested in seeing the natural gas production happen in NY and PA, you no doubt also see the insane misinformation regularly dished out by ProPublica and the many extremist obstructionist groups that follow.

Well, those groups are not what they appear to be.

In this blog I will post the FACTS about these groups and what sneaky, sick and sometimes illegal activities they regularly indulge…

Bad Press via- Walter Hang group!

I have been to many meetings concerning companies trying to do business in NYS. This man, (hang) has popped up with his data, telling tax payers and communities that this industry is a "bad" idea and will contaminate water, even cause cancer in some cases. He shows his "hotspots" of contamination, then the fear is on! He has costed villages and taxpayers money to check on his "data". Most is bogus! Why is this happening? I realize there IS freedom of speech here in this nation, but- to…

Marcellus Shale Unit or Pool Size Limits

I brought up this subject recently in the Tioga County, Pa. forum, but I feel I should raise the issue to a wider audience. As I am informed, there seems to be no law in Pennsylvania limiting the size of a unit or pool around a given well. The assumption is that the unit will be around the size of a section - 640 acres- a square mile. Some units are a little bigger or smaller, depending on the geography of the actual drilling of the well's horizontal leg. If unit size is limited in a given…
