Cuomo Delivers: New York Electricity Prices 44% Higher Than U.S.

New York electricity prices are now 26% higher than Pennsylvania’s and 44% higher than the U.S. average according to the Energy Information Administration.

New York residents, on average, pay 44% more for electricity than other states, 26% more than neighboring Pennsylvania and 40% more than Ohio. In January of this year, New Yorkers (and New York utility companies) were briefly forced to pay a record high of $140.25 per thousand cubic feet (Mcf) for natural…

Pay for Your Own Damned Electric Vehicle, Please, I’m Working to Pay My Bills

Electric vehicle subsidies largely steal from the poor and middle classes to give to the rich. It’s time to stop this picking of winners and losers.

Electric vehicles (EVs) remain a darling of the “Keep It in the Ground” folks, who tout them as the beginning of the end for fossil fuels. Even setting aside the reality that oil and natural gas are still critical to everything automotive—from seatbelts to the streets they drive on—this uncritical adoration of…

The state’s permitting and…

Andrew Cuomo Chooses New York State’s Ending: In Ice

Andrew Cuomo bragged last week that he had banned fracking, stopped pipelines and would prevent any more gas plants, ensuring New York State will end in ice.

Some readers will recall Robert Frost’s famous “Fire and Ice” poem regarding the two possible ways the world might end. He was talking metaphorically, of course, and ice represented hate, which…

Reuse-Recycle Programs Big Part of Evolving Natural Gas Technology

Reuse-recycle programs are now becoming a huge part of both shale and Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) operations, saving water and reducing other impacts.

During the past 30+ years, USA energy fuel usage has changed from predominance of coal and foreign oil to shale natural gas and oil. In addition, both the technology and role of wastewater treatment firms have evolved from…

No Evidence of Methane Contamination from Recent Oil and Gas Drilling in Ohio

Whoa! Geologists at the University of Cincinnati examined drinking water in Carroll, Stark and Harrison Counties, Ohio, and found no methane contamination.

The Deer Creek Foundation is no friend of fracking. It’s part of the fractivist echo chamber, in fact. They …

The Bitter, Miserable, Self-Destructive, Sniveling World of Fractivism

A picture used by the Delaware Povertykeeper speaks volumes about the nature of fractivism. It is, to echo P.J. O’Rourke, a philosophy of sniveling brats.

One of our readers sent me a link the other day that spoke to the problem with fractivism. It was an appeal by the Delaware Povertykeeper a/k/a Riverkeeper for support for an amendment to the New York state Constitution similar to Pennsylvania’s…

A Glimpse of New York's Future?

Governor Cuomo should take a hard look at British Columbia’s all time high gas prices since blocking the Canadian pipeline might be a glimpse at New York’s future.

The Canadian pipeline civil war got even nastier this week.  To those observant enough to notice, the warning sirens for the United States are blaring.

On Wednesday, the Alberta provincial government followed through on its threat to neighboring British Columbia by passing a law…

Natural Gas Is A Pillar of the Community Says SCCTC Student

A Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center (SCCTC) student tells exactly what natural gas has done for him and his peers in making a future for them.

Two decades ago, my hometown was struggling to thrive. There were no high-paying jobs available, and the only way to hava a family-sustaining career was to move away. Natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions is now making its way west to places such as Indianapolis where it is serves to fuel new power plants.

Seems like a day doesn’t by that we don’t notice yet another natural gas-fired electric plant project has been announced, or in this case, has come online! Here’s a project not previously on our radar. Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) built and recently brought online a 671-megawatt combined-cycle…

The Delaware Riverkeeper Exposed and Throttled in Court

A decision by the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board exposes the radical agenda of the Delaware Riverkeeper a/k/a Povertykeeper and throttles it back.

Last week something beautiful happened in the Pennsylvania courts; the Delaware Riverkeeper got handed another big loss. This one, before the Environmental Hearing Board, was special in three ways. First, it delivered a very sharp blow to the kind of speculation on which fractivists such as the Delaware…
