Hello all!
I have been doing a little research and speaking with friends and neighbors about forming a group to address the needs of those of us not yet represented by a landowners group.
This led me to call ALOV after hearing that they had accepted some acreage in Trumbull county.
I paid little attention to ALOV earlier as their website did not list Trumbull county as an area of interest, although the work they were doing was certainly of great interest to me.
From what i gather there was a cut-off of June 30 for sign-up with ALOV, they extended that and also had a meeting at RD banks Chevy in Champion. This may not be news to some of you, but i had not come across the posting until after. The word i got from an individual at ALOV was that Chesapeake set a northern geographical cut-off in Trumbull county of St.Rt.88, again this may not be a newsworthy flash to some. Many landowners attended, more than expected according again to a source at ALOV, and signed up their acreage.
Now heres the news, ALOV has agreed to start a "Waiting List" of still more interested parties from areas north of St.Rt.88. If you call them with name, address and phone number they will put you on the list, and depending on level of interest, they may choose to represent us as a group in a similiar fashion, with the same or even better terms to Chesapeake, or another interested party.
So call up ALOV, their number is listed on their site www.alov.us , and ask to be included in their next go around. From where i stand why re-invent the wheel, they already have done the groundwork and have the attention of the industry on favorable terms, lets ask them to either start another "Pool" to include us, or come work with us to the same end.
If you have information to share, please join in the discussion, Thanks
Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners. I Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group, that resulted from these efforts, still around.
Has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

ALOV negotiated a bonus of $3900.00/acre with a 17.5% royalty.
That is a nice number. I remain hopeful that BP pays everybody over your way The eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania areas have been really hard hit economically. I lived in Greenville, Pa. until I was 43. It was a great place to grow up. The town had lots of industries including Greenville Steel Car Co., Chicago Bridge and Iron Works, Bessemer &Lake Erie RR, and R.D. Werners Aluminum Co. They are all gone. Perhaps the O&G boom will extend far enough to the east to help all of Mercer County. Sharon lost Sharon Steel and Westinghouse. Grove City lost Cooper Bessemer. Could go on and on but to what purpose? Do not want to be overtly political, but I fail to understand how Pa. and Ohio voters could re-elect Obama. He is not for natural gas despite a speech he gave a few weeks ago in Ohio. It's a strange world!
Yea, Joe except for a few pesky facts that get in the way of your theory; Kasick is the one placing the tax on ohio landowners to help share the burdon for the oil and gas companies via the royalties, trying also to spread the tax to cover the buget in Ohio to lower the taxes on ALL the Ohio people using a tax on our royalties not the O&G companies from products produced on OUR land. I am all for lowering the spending he is doing, but drill on state land and let us share, not my land.
And natural Gas is clean energy. Which is it? Obama is killing the coal indstry or killing the gas industry? cant be both. Check your facts.
dont want to high jack the thread, but I get tired of untruths.
Joe, Jack, Jill, now Obama! Pick a name and be like everyone else and contribute something worthwhile. Or go elsewhere where you are wanted!
Pathetic!
Obama called clean coal the future and supported it in 2008-then he signed executive orders against it and encouraged his epa to support shutting it down. Now he is claiming he supports clean coal and natural gas in the same sentence, his epa is sitting on 1100 pages of new regulations for oil and gas drilling to be put in force after the November elections. We cannot afford to be so gullible-fracing will be lumped with coal as the 'enemy' of the environment if he's re-elected.
You are right which is why I get annoyed seeing pro-obama nonsense on this website. He is NOT a friend of fossil fuels. I am not at all sexist but it seems that the pro-obama nonsense is posted mostly by women. He did give a speech in Ohio recently saying he was for natural gas. Of course his piechart on energy suddenly added coal the day after a convicted and incarcerated felon got % 40 % of the votes for president in the West Virginia Democratic Presidential primary. If you are interested in the development of natural gas in this country and you vote for Obama, you have voted against your own interests. You will suffer a lot of buyer's remorse if he is re-elected. Wake up Ohioans and Pennsylvanians too for that matter!!
Let's keep this on topic. That doesn't include political posts.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
