Poll Question: Do You Support The Severance Tax ?

I posted this question to the members of USA, but I'd like to know how the GMS membership feels ?

I will send the results to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and appropriate committees.

No we do not.

We are of the opinion that we should not
initiate another reason to stall development.

We also believe that we all pay enough taxes
just the way things are.

No. The plan seems politically motivated by the Govenor to get votes in the next election.

Bought my land 20 years ago, My Taxes go up every 2 years. The State of Ohio has never help me pay the Taxes. Why should I give them more of my money.   VOTE NO

Actually I don't think this is politically motivated. The Governor is even bucking his own party.

I really don't understand this.

As I understand it.

This is to fulfill a campaign promise to lower property taxes.

My vote is:

NO!

We are at a very vulnerable time in the development of this play. To add taxes now could kill that golden goose that will bring much more revenue to this state than a severance tax could.
