I spoke to someone in the tax dept. of Marshall County today.  He said drilling is really going heavy there. I am from out of state.  Does nyone else see it being big? - Denver

Gas Drilling Booms in Valley

WHEELING - There already are a number of producing Marcellus wells in the local area, centered in Marshall and Wetzel counties.

2011 - and Beyond. Expect to see more natural gas drilling in the local area next year, as companies move on properties that are nearing the end of their initial lease life and work to firm up leases and pipeline rights of way throughout the region.

I would recommend, depending on the situation, a 3 or 5 year lease with payment upfront and no extensions with right of first refusal. If they are ready to drill soon, $4000.00+ per acre and at least 18.75% royalty would not be asking to much. This lease would be for the Marcellus formation only. Exclude any deeper layers.
