Comment by Ann Whitchurch on May 8, 2013 at 3:25pm I finally manuvered through the WV dept of Oil & Gas thanks to tutorial from a NARO member. It's a wonderful website once you figure it out. I found a map of all wells in my district and the map key had Marcellus symbol. Unfortunately no Marcellus by me yet.
Comment by TWB on May 7, 2013 at 7:40pm Sorry, I'm from out of state and don't know. I tried to look up Webster District but can't find it using Google. I was told you can look up permits and lease filings with the Marshall County Clerks Office. http://www.marshallcountywv.org/county.asp
Comment by Ann Whitchurch on May 7, 2013 at 12:18pm Hi, ya all!
Any activity in Webster District of Marshall County?
Comment by TWB on May 5, 2013 at 10:38am We are leased with Gastar in Marshall County and also hope for their continued success with liquids rich well results as our land is due west of their current drilling operations there. We were told that part of our land could be in a drilling unit within two years.
Does anyone have any knowledge of anyone actually getting royalties from Gastar?
I know they have a large obligation to PPG in Marshall and now there is this mid-continent play they need to drill so I'm wondering how much the smaller lease holders in Marshall County will fare.

Comment by Denver Gallentine on January 30, 2012 at 3:31pm I spoke to someone in the tax dept. of Marshall County today. He said drilling is really going heavy there. I am from out of state. Does nyone else see it being big? - Denver
Comment by gasoholic on December 26, 2010 at 11:06am WHEELING - There already are a number of producing Marcellus wells in the local area, centered in Marshall and Wetzel counties.
2011 - and Beyond. Expect to see more natural gas drilling in the local area next year, as companies move on properties that are nearing the end of their initial lease life and work to firm up leases and pipeline rights of way throughout the region.

Comment by gasoholic on December 20, 2010 at 11:38pm I would recommend, depending on the situation, a 3 or 5 year lease with payment upfront and no extensions with right of first refusal. If they are ready to drill soon, $4000.00+ per acre and at least 18.75% royalty would not be asking to much. This lease would be for the Marcellus formation only. Exclude any deeper layers.
Comment by PMD on December 20, 2010 at 11:15pm Question, Would anyone be able to tell me the amount that should be ask for.. concerning the Delayed Rental on a gas lease? thank you PMD

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
