Dukester.... Glad to hear that. I have 48.5 acres and a 5.5 acre lake which they have asked me if I would sell water for the fracking. Brett, the geologist is extremely knowledgeable. All the staff got their stuff together. my neighbor signed as well.

I also signed with NELA and think it was a good decision just purchased 25 acres and will also sign it with them they are doing a good job and not high pressure.

Everyone on here is trying to do the right thing. GETTING PAID.... all of us are trusting these companies in hopes of GETTING PAID. Time will tell who made the right decisions. I hope I did right by signing up with NELA.  I hope all of us are able to reap what God has put under our land.

No problem, Susan!  I don't think any of the landowners who have signed with Wishgard are greedy, and prefer to think of them as uninformed rather than naive.  There are always pros and cons on positions on this site...I've just so far not seen ONE benefit to signing with Wishgard rathering than joining a reputable group or just waiting a while to consider leasing...

As far as the arguments between site members, almost ALL of them have involved Wishgard reps!  Those between Adam and I are a perfect example, and they would never happen if Adam accepted facts as facts and, instead of telling people that they're "wrong" or outright calling them liars, used facts to support his positions and statements.  About a month ago, there was a site member who said he was an agent for Wishgard somewhere in northern Ashtabula County posting on here...he never guaranteed Wishgard would pay all who signed, he didn't twist facts or statements by others, he was completely professional in his approach to dealing with others.  I've had NO problems with him whatsoever!   :-)

I've heard that only one individual in Ashtabula County has been paid by Wishgard?

I don't have hard evidence, you know how rumors are on this site.  I get your point about the time frame for ALOV to get paid this time around.  I guess I am just thinking that not everyone that signed with Wishgard prior is naive or greedy.  Maybe falling on hard times, people couldn't wait.  There are pros and cons to each side.  Its too bad we get into name calling and derogatory remarks from landowners, lease flippers alike, instead of an information exchange.  I wish the best to everyone.

Comment by Ed Ganelli on March 30, 2012 at 8:17am

The long pay date is simply what ALOV was able to negotiate with BP...as were all the other changes in this lease from prior leases they negotiated.  If it was the best ALOV could get, then that's what they have to present to groupmembers...it's now up to the members to decide whether or not it's good enough...

@Susan - "Am I under the wrong impression that not everyone in the 1st group of ALOV got paid."  Not arguing that all ALOV groupmembers from past groups have gotten paid...but just saying that I have yet to hear of or see a posting from anyone who hadn't (except for those who had title/existing lease issues with their land).  Could you post references where you've seen that ALOV members didn't get paid, please?  I'd like to have it for future reference...  Thanks!   :-)

I would guess that 84,000 acres worth of land records will take a while to research/verify by the driller.

What is the reason that this time around, ALOVE needs more time to pay bonues - I thought I saw October, 2012.  That is about 7 months away.  Did it take that long with their first group.  Am I under the wrong impression that not everyone in the 1st group of ALOV got paid.  Some did and some didn't?

Oh wait, I forgot about the wall that goes down 10,000 feet on the Ashtabula/Trumbull line.  Ashtabula is still unproven ground.  We better take what we can get.
