Philip, I would be interested in doing that for Harrison, and keeping the current updated version accessible on the HCOLG website. That is just the kind of information that I am hoping that HCOLG can make easily accessible to county royalty holders and anyone else interested in the well-being of our county. You can contact me here.
I would be happy to teach anyone how to update this Google Earth Map.Harrison%20Co.%20Wells.kmz
It will be a big job for one person to keep up with after they start pooling and my land is in Guernsey Co. This is what the current Bradford Co. PA map looks like.

It gives an idea of what this area will look like in about 4 years.
porkchop, just look about 6 posts down this thread, and you will see that Philip Brutz is already on that idea.
Of course you can also follow the permitting for all new wells, and also all existing and plugged wells, on the ODNR's Ohio Geological Survey Well Locator utility. It's not as visually appealing as Google Earth in 3D, but it is an official public database that should be somewhat reliably maintained. I'm not sure how fast they get new wells plotted on it though.
Thanks Randall for your diligence in keeping us up to date. I wonder if it would be possible for someone with Google Earth skills to plot the permitting + drilling progress so as to see where the progress is heading in the Harrison county?
The ODNR has updated the permit/drilling info on their website. No new activity for Harrison Co. See the link below....

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
