Although this article features mostly on Enervest, and their holdings and stratigies, there is alot of information on the current state of the Utica Play. It might be worth reading twice.

Over the last few months I've seen alot of skeptical comments when we talk of the value of Ohio's Utica Shale compared to the Bakken or Eagle Ford. See the link below for the amount Chesapeake is seeking for a 30% JV interest in their leased acreage. They are looking for $12,000 to $16,000 per acre.

Read this to find out who is threatening to pull the rug out from under all of us eastern Ohio land/mineral owners who are hoping to enjoy some financial prosperity. http://www.cantonrep.com/newsnow/x897729769/Ohio-Democrats-continue...
Just a reminder that they don't have to drill on your land for you to receive royalties when they go out hortizontally.
Tad, sorry you missed joining the KWGD Group. As Randy said below, we did post information about the KWGD opportunity here and on the HCOLG website. Also, we sent out an email to all our members. I see no record of you ever joining HCOLG, although I have record of a donation to the group, which is much appreciated. Signing up for the group and making a donation are separate things though, so you never made it onto our mailing list. However from your donation information, I have now added your email to the HCOLG mailing list. If anyone else wants to be added to the HCOLG mailing list, send an email to info@hcolg.org. Please note that currently HCOLG is not organizing any landowner groups. Our focus now is now twofold: 1) We are researching the available groups and try to help connect people to groups that may benefit them, and 2) we are providing a support network for royalty owners over the years ahead as drilling and development ensues.
I continue to get calls and emails daily from people with Harrison County acreage looking to join a good group with a good lease, and there are currently a few options. (Lots of bad options, but a few good ones...)

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
