For those who are leased with Chesapeake, or who own their common shares, you might find this article interesting. See the link below....

Here's a study of the impact of "Shale Gas".  How many believe the conclusion to be correct?

Here's a nice article regarding fracking sand. Ohio should be able to supply adequate sand, which makes the play more cost friendly. Also creating more jobs and putting more money into the local economy. See the link...

Baker Hughes has updated the rig locations for the week. for directions and the link, see the 5th post below relating to Baker Hughes.

As a side-note, the Harrison Co sub-group of the KWGD signing with Chesapeake has begun receiving their bonus checks. Approx two dozen landowners should have received their bonus so far. If you have not received your bonus yet, it will most likely arrive early in 2012.

Hope all of you Harrison County Shalers have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Texas has adopted some of the most stringent fracking fluid reporting in the nation even though that state has had fracking going on safely for 60 years.

This next site has a lot of info about what Texas is doing with oil and gas exploration, reporting, etc.

The Ohio DNR has updated the permit/drilling activity report for last week. I didn't notice anything new for Harrison Co. See the link....

I recall arguing that the gas companies should pay the severance tax on our leases and being told that Republicans would not impose more taxes on this gas boom.  I knew politicians of any ilk would not miss a chance to raise more money.  Check this link.

I posted this on the main and ohio pages, but just in case you don't check there; here's the current drilling rig locations and what they are drilling for. This site is updated each Friday after noon. When the site opens, select Ohio as the state, then select Appalachain Basin as the basin. Then hit refresh and the map should populate. We (the Play) have been at either 12 or 13 active rigs for some time & that number should start to increase in Jan/Feb of 2012. See the link....
