I am out of town till late next week, but would love to have Nathan and anyone else help with putting this together, so if anyone out there is interested, lets talk and put together our ideas, I am wide open. First things would be picking a date, time, place, speakers and info to be covered. Lets keep this going............... Rod

Rod, this is exactly what is needed. There have already been several meetings held. I live 700 miles down the road in Iowa and have tried to get family members interested to no avail. I can help you with finding speakers. I'd suggest you contact the local Farm Bureau office in Scio to see if they would facilitate a meeting. Also, please make sure that Nathan receives an invitation!

Idea, why don't we all try to schedule a meeting for Harrison County landowners, so we can all meet and discuss as a group. THis might also be a chance to bring in someone to speak. Also we could discuss grouping our land. Just an idea, thoughts anyone. I have a good place we could meet if interested. Rod

Landmen around the areas of Tusc and Harrison and Carroll counties are out telling my landowners and other leases owned by oil and gas producers that they can break their lease with them "just don't cash your checks." Which will not work and thus giving these people false hope and creating animosity. Red Sky is good for doing that. What do you expect from someone whose only job is to swing in get that signature and never be seen again?

I think the comment should be, some landmen.......not these landmen, unless you are refering to the landmen Rod is talking to! It's been my expierence that a good landman that wants a lease will do all of the due dilligence necessary and when he or she goes to the landowner, they can explain exactly where that owner stands.
Comment by Nate on October 13, 2010 at 4:38pm
These landmen are lazy and worse than used car salesmen. If they spent as much time in the courthouse doing their due dilligence as they do out spreading false truths, things would be so much better.

thank you very much for the info

Gentlemen, the thread below is what this site is all about--sharing info to help others! I agree with all that is said but have an additional comment. The leases being offered by some companies contain a warranty clause which states that the lessor is warranting title. Rod made sure that any lease that you might sign DOES NOT have such a warranty clause.

we have 20 acres, and it used to be the family farm, we are the 4 generation, it is split into 7 pieces, and i have been elected to follow and see what we can get. We have been contacted by Kenyon with several low ball offers, and now waiting on them to get back to us. Was also contacted directly by Chief Oil and Gas, and also Cherokee Oil and Gas, but also waiting on a second responce.......Rod
