This is a must read for all landowners, I know it is over 80 pages, but it is great information for everyone.

I would guess the Rolling Stone guy's article was pretty much written before he ever met with Chesapeake. - ignore the facts and full speed ahead.  You can tell when he slams the Koch brothers and McClendon as "influential right-wing power brokers" and never mentions billionaire left-wing power broker George Soros.

Here"s the controversial Rollingstone article and Chesapeake's response, side by side. I only offer this as info. See the link....

Here is the link to the Markwest Energy conference call. It gives some insight to what is coming to our area. It sounds like Harrison county is going to play a major part in the grand scheme of things!http://seekingalpha.com/article/402931-markwest-energy-partners-lp-...

Re: the article Randy attached.  I see some politicians are proposing using part of this new possible severance tax revenue to fund "clean energy."   "...Other revenue would go into a re-established fund for clean energy."   Why not just pour it down a rat hole?

Randy,

RE: the severance tax.  You're welcome.  The creaking you hear is me taking a bow!!  I've been watching this tax situation and laughing to myself!  Having spend years in politics, I know that the govt, Rep or Dem, will figure out a way to take every penny they can get and the budding Marcellus/Utica industry is just ripe for the picking.  For anyone to say the Reps wouldn't dare to raise taxes is ludicrous and denies the reality of the political animal.  "The devil walks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."  (I Pet. 5:8)  - same with the govt in relation to any ready money source.

Governor Kasich's comprehensive overhaul of Ohio energy policy is is going to be something to keep an eye on. He spoke to a meeting of Ohio's heaviest energy users in Cleveland about it. Here's a preview of what he says will be introduced in the legislature in mid-March.

The Eagle Ford Shale and the Utica Shale plays are very similar. Check out the video on this web site, and if you have time, read a few stories. You'll have a better idea what is in our future in the next few years. See the link....

Hey Sue, do you remember the discussions regarding taxes when we were giving input on our leases? All in our group owe you a big thanks for making the case for severance tax assignment to the lessee. See the article on Ohio lawmakers proposing to raise the severance tax to 7%. See the link...

Take a look at the article on the pipeline and plant, which mentions Harrison County as the "heart" of the Utica fairway. See the link...
