Paul,  You might find the attached Marathon pipeline map interesting. I'm sure you know that Marathon Petroleum has a refinery on the soth side of Canton, which is visible from rt 30.

For mineral title work, I would contact Owen Beetham in Cadiz.  He's the best.

I saw/thought same thing.....why that much interest in Carrol County?  I suspect intrastructure is in place more so there than elsewhere....just a guess.  Saw tanker trucks ( not for oil) heading that way this AM....East on St Rt 39 from New Phila.

I have seen quotes by the CEOs of Shell and Chesapeake stating that they are drilling the periphery of their acreage in order to establish the boundries of the core area. Notice that most of the wells being permitted are for both a vertical (to get sample cores) and horizontal (which they will use the vertical to the desired depth) to put into production. It is also possible that the wells being drilled are very close to trasmission pipelines (which is where they normally will drill first. One last thought is that they might be drilling on old leases that they acquired which will soon expire if they don't drill and get them held by production. Just my thoughts....

I looked at the permits issued so far on DNR website and it looks like carrol county is on fire! Does anyone have any insite of this and why have there only been two permits for harrison county. I thought it was the hotspot.

I saw this on an industry site. Good to see an Ohio company positioning itsrlf to move our oil/NGL products to market.

Yes, we have used Mr. Emens. Met him at the HCOLG meetings at the church. Found him to be very knowledgable. Would definitely refer him to others.

Yes, if you're willing to go outside the county, Dick Emens is great too.  You can find links to Bill Williams (Krugliak, Wilkens, Griffiths, & Dougherty Co, LPA) and Dick Emens (Emens & Wolper Law Firm) at the HCOLG website on the links page by clicking here.

Richard (Dick) Emmons from Columbus is a good oil & gas attorney. He has been a featured speaker for many landowner groups in the past year. I can probably get you his contact info if you are interested.
