Thanks, Randy. Click here for the presentation by Rosetta Resources that is the source for the article you referenced. It is interesting to note that Rosetta is planning to go back after supposedly fully producing their acreage and do in-fill drilling, which is drilling new lines in between their existing lines. It seems that instead of the accepted drainage of 500' out from the well bore (giving a spacing of 1000' between well bores), they are rethinking that and believe it will only really drain half of that, so that it is worth it to go back and in-fill.
The link gets you to the home page. The article I referred to is at the top left (most recent post). Titled Future of well spacing in the eagle ford shale

Most of us don't understand well spacing, and what may be in our future. Here is a nice article regarding well spacing in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas. Note that the Utica and Eagle Ford are very similar in strata and oil/NGL zones.

Here's an excellent article which explains why the value of your lease is much higher than has been offered to date. The wet play (all of Harrison Co) is vastly more profitable than the dry gas zones. Make sure your leases are going to compensate for all hydocarbons (Ethane, Propane, ect.) If not spelled out in the lease you could be very disappointed when you get your royalty check.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
