Scott, I don't think that Chesapeake hasn't contacted you because of your Oxford lease. I know that they have top-leased with other people, i.e., they go ahead and sign a lease that will take effect as soon as the current lease expires. In my opinion they haven't contacted you because a lot of the landmen are running around crazy and a little disorganised. I hadn't been contacted, so I just contacted the landman myself. I just called the one who had been talking to my neighbors. I asked him why no one had contacted me and he said they would have eventually but they are all stretched so thin and running around all over the place. If Oxford will release your current lease, that's great, but I don't think you have to wait for that to contact Kenyon yourself. However, I like several others here, would recommend not signing anything yet. Get engaged with them, but wait and see, because prices may be going up very shortly.

Richard thank you. I believe I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Scott, I believe Oxford will release you from your lease if you write them and ask. They know they have no reason to hold your lease. Nothing to loose!

Rod, we are also in the Oxford lease and they are not going to
drill. We have a farm in North Township and have been offered
1500.00 with 15% by Chesapeake. We would get 10% down and
the other 90% in Feb or March as soon as the lease is up.

Al, and also to all. This is great info and i really appreciate all the input. A big thanks to Al for starting this forum. I have been out of town for several weeks and cant find the link, but somebody here in Harrison County wanted to start grouping together our land to make it more valuable to any of the players. We are in for pursuing that option also. Rod

I am wondering what is going on in my area. My property is in Archer twp. I am currently in the last year of my lease with Oxford oil. As of now they have not drilled and I don't believe they will. All of my surrounding neighbors have been approached by Chesapeake. To my knowlege some have come to terms and the others are in negotiations. Do you believe I have not been approached because of my current lease with Oxford ? Is there anything I can do to get in the game ? Scott.

Yes Chuck, is this confirmed? They are the second biggest player after Chesapeake, from what I can tell, and would be good competition for them. Do you have a contact for a landman from RR that is working Ohio?

Chuck,
That is the first report I have heard of
Range Resources making an offer in Ohio.
Is your information confirmed?
Competion would be great for all land owners.

The signing bonus, is a $10.00 check they hand to you at signing.
I'm not sure why, it must have something to do with making it a binding contract.
