Here's an interesting article on the Utica. Should production reports be made public monthly, quarterly, or annually as is currently the law?

The state DNR has posted the permit/drilling report for the week of 10/7.

Comment by Al Cramblett on October 17, 2012 at 5:41am I just received an email advising that NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams will have a segment on Harrison County's Oil and Gas Boom (presumably Thursday, 18 October at 6:30 Eastern)). Stewart Henderson had been interviewed for the spot. He has 2 or 3 wells on his farm.
The rumor that I heard today is that the Shugart property got over $8000 for about 640 acres. That is the well where Gulfport had great results that was posted on here a week ago. I don't know anything about the lease terms.
Comment by Poison Ivy on October 16, 2012 at 9:51am Good question , Phillip. I was wondering the same thing. At $8200. per acre, what was the royalty? Anyone? Was this in Harrison County?
Comment by Philip Brutz on October 16, 2012 at 4:59am Good point. Also what were the least terms.
Comment by Al Cramblett on October 16, 2012 at 4:48am Philip, I would suggest that a better question is "what was the royalty amount"? Many in Harrison County could've gotten a much higher signing bonus if they had lowered the royalty percentage to 12 .5 which was the royalty percentage at which all this started in 2010.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
