Randy, where's the article on county records being available online?
Randy, this case of force pooling is interesting because it hints at what sort of force-pooling situations that the ODNR will allow. In this case, the force-pooled acreage made up 6% of the total unit, with the forced parcels averaging 2.5 acres in size. Each of the these mineral owners were approached repeatedly with offers but refused. None of these mineral owners will get signing bonuses, but they will get 100% royalty from the production under their land (instead of the 12.5% to 20% that lease-signers get). Also, they will have no surface disturbance whatsoever; no pads, roads, pipelines, etc. If you didn't mind the idea of drilling/fracking in general, being force-pooled in doesn't sound so bad...
Think you can't/won't be force pooled in Ohio? See the link...

Check out the article about falling NGL prices, due to over-supply. This has a potential to end up just like the dry gas pricing, which would hurt most royalty owners. See the link...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
