Chesapeake Energy announced the sale of their Ohio Utica Shale interests today after the market closed. They are selling assets in an effort to reduce debt and avoid bankruptcy. See the link......

Anyone have any information on the Luyster Well in Moorefield Township? Looks like it's been permitted and they even have a plat map but have seen zero updates for awhile. Just curious.
On July 10 the EIA published their short - term energy outlook. See the link
The Ohio DNR released the 2018 1st qtr production numbers today. See the link
On Friday Hess announced the sale of their JV with CNX for 800 million dollars. It was 36,000 acres of Utica. The implied value per acre would be $22,222 per acre although there are producing wells (dry gas) on about 10,000 of those acres. Note my math is not guaranteed so don't gripe if you come up with different number. Most of those acres are east of Moorefield Twp. in Harrison County. See the link

Drilling has almost come to a halt in the wet gas window of the county (western Harrison) with the exception of Ascent. Most active drillers are south and east of Harrison drilling dry gas wells and trying to get all of their leased land HPB before leases expire or renew. Here is a nice update on NGL prices and what may eventually bring them back to fill out their drilling pads https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=36494
Does anyone know the going lease rate per acre and royalty % for Harrison County? We've been contacted by DPS offering $1500/acre, 15%, 2 year primary term with option to renew another 2 years. Term seems short and offer low. I checked uslandrecords: Chesapeake has filed leases in German and Archer since Jan 1. Salt Fork resources has filed leases in Short Creek and Green. Typical term is 5 yrs with option to renew another 5. Are there any active landowner groups in the area?
I saw this link on another thread and thought everyone might find it interesting.

The E.I.A. released the monthly production report today. The information is not as informative as before, when the Utica Play was listed separately. The Utica and Marcellus are now combined into the Appalachian region. There's a lot of info here if you open the different tabs.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
