Here is an article from the times reporter . http://www.timesreporter.com/features/x1200258677/Drilling-for-answ...
I wonder if this facility might be planned for Consol land. My husband ventures that the old Hanna Coal "plant" south of Cadiz between Rts 250 and 9 might be a prime place. I haven't been back in there in years but there is already several acres of flat land cleared with roads to the property. It would have access to both Rts 250 & 9 (hence to I-70) & Rt 22 to Pittsburgh. Plus the Harrison Co. Airport is right across from the entrance on Rt. 9. There used to be rail access too but am not sure if that rail bed is still there and the right-of-way still exists.
Where do you think this plant might be built within the county ? Has anyone heard of any real estate transactions from Markwest ?
Here is a good look at what will be coming our way. Looks good to me. http://www.marcellus-shale.us/MarkWest_Cryogenic.htm
Market enhancement clause, actually has the ability to initiate right here in our wonderful county. Midstream is becoming reality slow but sure. Royalty days ahead. To those who have waited and endured, your time will soon be rewarded. Thanks
Big news for Harrison County, see the link

Al, with regard to,
A fellow member of this webpage indicates that he talked to a representative from the Harrison County auditor's office. It appeares as though the recent increase in valuation is directly related to a reevaluation of CAUV assessments which had not increased for the previous 20 years. Any significant increase in valuations due to the impact of minerals apparently is still to come.
I'm not sure that's the whole story. I called up there too, and they indicated to me that they were doing some CAUV reassessments and some mineral reassessments too. I know that people that have separate parcel numbers for their mineral rights are seeing the assessments on those mineral-only parcels go up, but now I feel like I didn't get the straight story from their office. Maybe they are using the CAUV reassessment as the instrument to assess for increased mineral value. Since the drilling (with it's relatively small footprint) doesn't interfere with agricultural use for the most part, it would stand to reason that they could do that. I will try to get clarification, but does anyone else know when and how the rollout of new property taxes based on reassessment of mineral value is occurring?
Scott, I'm just guessing, but the well south of Bloomingdale in Jefferson County fits that description. That would be the dry gas area, and the well was drilled by Marquette and has been sitting for months but now is owned by Hess and recently completed. I've been seeing them flaring at night. 11 mcfd is a very good number, dry-gas-only or not.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
