No offense to Rupe, but I wonder if he has the vast array of experiences that Emens and Williams would have.

There is also Mr. Beetham in Cadiz and Mr. Emens in Columbus. Both phone numbers should be online under attorneys. Good Luck.

Chris, I'm sorry to hear of the situation you have.  You need a good attorney who specializes in MINERAL RIGHTS, not a "general practice" local atty.  I'd venture to guess that a number of us have used the Canton firm Al refers to and they are very experienced.  The roving landmen like the ones you met are dangerous guys who can tie you and your minerals up in knots.   You are brave to admit your mistake and warn others about falling into the same trap.

Chris,

The situation you have gotten yourself into is very unfortunate. You do not provide enough detail for anyone to provide specific comment other than you should find a competent attorney. There is another string on this webpage that provides the name and telephone number of an attorney in Canton. Whoever convinced you that it would take 25 grand to resolve this problem is ill informed. Good luck!

This is not a good time to be drilling for oil or gas.  Moreover, I believe the US and the rest of the world are heading for an even more severe recession than that of 2008.  Here's support for my thinking:
