Here's a good summary of some of the major players at the end of the fourth quarter. There are a few nuggets that you might not have seen before. Note the $ number per acre in the wet gas zone, mentioned by Enervest. See the link...

Here's some current articles on the Utica fro Ohio.com, including the story of BP entering the play in Mahoning Co. and signing with Bob Rhea's group. $3,900 per acre bonus with 17.5% royalty. See the link...

Scott, Here's what Global is marketing in the Ohio/Pennsylvania area

http://www.globalgeophysical.com/content.aspx?cid=224. It looks like they're beginning to put together a library of geophysical data for the Utica and concentrating on the Harrison County area.

Most of the recent O&G leases give the lessee the right to do their own geophysical exploration but there are independents like Global who make a living by providing the data to O&G companies wanting to have better info before leasing or to leaseholders looking for "sweet spots".

Ask Global who is employing their services? Ask Global why they are doing this?

I received one of the letters from Global geophysical this week . I am looking for some input from others who have received one or anyone else for that matter. I am unsure exactly who they are working for ? I am all for keeping this drilling train rolling along but I would like some helpful advice. Why are they doing this now ? It seems they are having good success without it.

I'm thinking that it's the Hopedale site. Most of Gulfport's leased acreage is in the southwest part of the county, while Chesapeake is more central/northeast part of the county. For large contiguous blocks of land, I think this sets the maret price - for now.

Randy...1500 acres would cover alot of the areas that rhino holds coal rights to (hopedale and cadiz portals)... does the cadiz portal even operate?  I thought I heard it was closed up several years back.
