Rhino Resources is associated with Wexford Capital and has an investment relationship with Gulfport, but they leased 1500 acres in Harrison County with Chesapeake. Bonus is $6,000 per acre with a 20% gross royalty.See the link...

The Ohio DNR has updated the permit/drilling activity reports for 3-15-2012. Notice the Harrison Co activity. Gulfport's Wagner #1 is waiting for fracking. Where is the rig going next? Also two new permits for Chesapeake at the Sportsman's Club. These are Utica permits, while the first was for the Marcellus. Is there a settlement with the club? A second well at the Buell pad. Things are starting to pick up. See the link...

Check out the current articles, but pay particular attention to the Farm and Dairy article on Ohio's CAT tax. You may owe. See the link...

Scott, Thanks for posting the Beacon Journal article. It typifies the reporting of the negative aspects of shale development that the major media seems to stress. I didn't see any "balance" in the article that described the positive windfalls that so many Harrison County land owners have enjoyed.

Also, at the bottom of the article  noted above , tucked away on page 9 of the BJ was an article entitled "EPA says water tests find little health risk in Pennsylvania town" This is about the alleged pollution of water wells in Dimock, PA that have been linked to fracking from nearby Marcellus wells. Here's a link to the article as reported in the LA Times

You can view the locations of the active drilling rigs, for the week, on the Baker Hughes website at the link below. You can see the Gulfport Wagner #1 on the Harrison/Belmont line. When you go to the site, click on the state tab and select Ohio, then click on the basin tab and select Appalachian, then hit the select/refresh tab.

According to the Markwest CEO in the 3 minute video clip Harrison County is the hot spot for the wet gas of the Utica. Great News for us. http://businessjournaldaily.com/drilling-down/midstream-processors-...

I have been told they bought Scio pottery. That is where it is going. The old abandoned factory. So I have been told.

Josh,I am also wondering about that. Do you suppose it could be going to the fairly new facility on Gilmore ridge road ?
