Did they ever flare the Mcghee well yet?
The fire wasn't the actual well. It was a tanker on the well site. Shouldn't affect them at all.
I hope the fire doesn't affect Hilcorp much. If you guys in Mercer county don't know, Hilcorp has 3 big rigs working or being assembled in Lawrence county that I know of and heard there more rigs coming. Also have a pilot rig drilling.
John, I don't know for sure but my guess is they are planning more wells at the McCullough site. Chevron is very quiet about their future in Mercer County. They hold more leased acreage than any other company working in Mercer County and most of their leases are held by production so they are not in any hurry to start a major drilling program. Their goal was to complete a five year exploration program which is only in their third year. I think we will have to wait at least two more years before we really know their future plans. Due to the large amount of land they have leased in Mercer and surrounding counties could have been a deciding factor to Shell in selling their leases.
