Gas heir, You are right it doesn't make sense. Is it possible this is connected to Halcon pulling out of the Utica play?? Halcon drilled a Yoder well in West Salem Twp. Mercer County.
John: There are two separate projects National Fuel has with TGP. The sta.219 project is for the expansion of NFG line N. Line N interconnects to Texas Eastern in southwestern PA. The Niagara project will send gas to Canada. These project speak well for this area. NFG is very wise on spending money and not just throwing money around.
"If they leave it will not be good for the landowners that leased with them. No wells no money."
Oh, on the contrary! It would be the best thing that could happen to Mercer County landowners! Halcon has no cash, is in debt up to their eyeballs and has no plans to develop their acreage! It would be a blessing if Hilcorp, Swepi or Chevron was assigned those leases! The sooner, the better! They have the budgets to develop and drill!
They have a lot of leases in Mercer county. If they leave it will not be good for the landowners that leased with them. No wells no money. On the other hand they (landowners) can renew with more progressive companies or maybe the leases will be sold. Halcon is private and might very well be taken over.
Just finished listening to Halcon's Conference Call with "In Floyd We Trust" Wilson. They are clearly distancing themselves from the Utica. No near term plans for further exploration or development and none of their leaseholds expire soon, so they can be patient determining their disposition. They even went so far as to move the Utica from the "Core" plays to the "Non-Core" plays tab on their website and removed the "Utica/Point Pleasant" graphic from the map on their home page. Zero CapX budget for the Utica in 2014. I'd say they were done in the Utica. In summary, it was more what Floyd didn't say than what he said about the Utica that makes me think Halcon is packing their bags. I, for one, will not miss them. lol
I believe the Pennant line is running across the top of the hill thru the James property instead of bottom like Tennessee line runs.
Mr Ewing; from looking at the maps, the Blue Racer line runs through the township. Perhaps there will be a processing/separator along the line and the gascos are running their lines to that plant and will tie into the BR there.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
