John, That map shows the pipeline ending on Steister road so the bluegrass pipeline and the Hickory Bend project are the same line??  The last part of my blip states that the Bluegrass pipeline starts near Grove City by Williams and Boardwalk pipeline partners. The project on Steister road says it is a NiSource services project??

WTF- attached is the map Williams used at the public meeting held at a hotel near the Grove City Premium Outlets (you know the one that actually has a Mercer PA address). Unless something has changed it shows the pipeline ending near Mercer (TGP 219?).

Elnathan- the good news here is the Tennessee Gas Pipeline infrastructure already exists. I'm not sure those compressors will pump south without some re-engineering. When that station was built 60 years ago I doubt it ever crossed their minds that they would some day pump gas( and oil)back to Texas.

On another note- I noticed on a Markwest presentation and on the Kinder Morgan "Marcellus Utica Texas Pipeline"(new official name) map that they show a processing plant similar to the Hickory Bend plant in Mercer County called THREE RIVERS. Anyone hear anything about this? I while back Ron E. was babbling about a cryogenic plant in Mercer County that fell thru. Maybe this was what he was referring to in Lackawannock TWP?

Grove City, Start of new pipeline!!

NEW CASTLE — A few years ago, talk about Marcellus and Utica shales was about drilling andfracking. While drilling for natural gas is now prevalent locally and well pads are dotting the county’s horizon, focus is shifting to the digging for construction of pipelines to transport the gas from the drilling sites to areas throughout the middle and eastern United States.
Four major pipelines in the works will pass through Lawrence County.
The Hickory Bend Gathering System involves construction of 20- and 24-inch gathering pipelines extending about 55 miles through northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Hickory Bend is a project of NiSource Midstream Services, which is building a cryogenic gas processing plant in New Middletown, Ohio, in partnership with Harvest Pipeline Co., which is the midstream subsidiary of Hilcorp Energy. That project will have two different pipelines coming through the area, according to Sara Barczyk, manager of community relations for NiSource.

A third is the Sunoco Allegheny Access pipeline, originating in Mogadore, Ohio, and going south to Vanport in Beaver County, crossing through a section of Little Beaver Township, according to information from the Lawrence County Conservation District office.
The fourth pipeline is part of the Bluegrass Pipeline project by Williams and Boardwalk PipelinePartners. Locally, it will originates near Grove City in Mercer County and extend southwest through Lawrence County into Ohio and ultimately to Kentucky. Sara Delgado, communications specialist with Williams Pipeline, said that project is just in the developmental stages and the companies are in the process of getting rights-of-way from landowners and doing environmental studies. Completion is expected in 2015.

This sounds very promising. All we need is better infrastructure and then more wells.

Found this tidbit on Tennessee Gas Pipeline open season for natural gas back haul contacts (north to south transport). Sounds promising.

Jim- they have managed to "produce" the well even if it means just pulling a few hundred CF/month.. When I contacted them they said that they planned to produce their gas rights for the foreseeable future, underscore the word THEIR. I hoping they know something I don't. I can't complain too much, we do get free gas to the house. I remember laughing to myself years ago when they paid me $5/acrea to lease our farm. I took their money thinking they would never drill on me. What little did I know back then. Now these oil companies are laughing at all of us now (all the way to the bank).

JohnL; you say the company was going to pull the well three years ago.  Did they go over two years without making any payments, either royalty or shut in fees? If so, you may be able to get out of the lease.

Also it is about 2 miles from the shannon well! Right smack in the middle of shannon and Palmer!

Omg- that is cheap, we were offered $ 5000 last summer and we are just a couple of miles from there. Would never, ever consider selling!
