I would imagine an email/letter from CX/M+P is going to show up soon. Hold on to your leases!

Ummm . This Halcon - Sandy Lake thing is major. I'm second hand here but suggest someone with first hand post on the main discussion board as well as here! Thanks.

Now I hear Halcon is backing out on Sandy Lake and Stoneboro!! Hmmmm....I am usually very optimistic and give others the benefit of the doubt but really starting to wonder about this whole CX/Halcon deal!!?? Neighbors that signed with Shell had check in hand that day.

** Correction on last post ..... meant Jeremy not Jason

Jim thank you for your valuable input. I agree with you that the Halcon lease is the way to go and what we prefer it. What frustrats me is the fact that I constantly communicated my concerns about the situation all along the way to M & P. Their attitude was that even if the paper work "crossed up" it wouldn't be a big deal to set things straight. After looking at the dates on the paper work...... CX was notified of Halcons results on the title search and sat on the info for one month before forwarding it to M & P ...then tM & P held onto the report until November!! After which I played hell trying to get through to Jason to find out what was going on. Finally after several calls that found hin "unavailable" he did answer a rather lengthy email and answered all my Q's. Status is now that we are sitting on land that is ready to go free and clear .....  Like I said I would rather just go ahead with the Halcon deal but M & P says they cannot give a def answer on when the paper work that was resubmitted  will finish processing. They say Halcon has told them several weeks....everyone else I have talked to says it should not be that big of a deal to get cleaned up........ I just don't want to be played and miss out on the whole movement here. I am sure you understand my perspective. I honestly am not angry at anyone...don't have time for that.......just want to know what the real deal is and move forward. You ....or at least your Company has money on the table right along side of mine Jim......how long should we wait before we call it a dead horse and move on before the barn burns down??

Brett; here's my take but first I must tell you that I work with Cx and may be biased so take that under advisement.

If you look at the lease with Halcon vs the lease with Shell, you will see the Halcon lease is much better. Even if Shell offers the same money and same royalty, the Halcon lease is still better. The question is will they pay? If your neighbors are with Halcon and they have been paid then Halcon will probably pay. Talk to M & P to see if there are issues with the fact that this is late in the game. Ask them if their agreement with Halcon would still require them to pay at this late date.

Even if they tell you the agreement doesn't cover a late submission, your best bet might still be with Halcon since a) they have your neighbors and b) the lease is better. I don't know if Shell will still be offering but if they are interested now they probably will be later.......but no guarantee.

You have a big decision to make. Hope I helped if even a little.  Good luck either way you decide.

35 acres on Flick road

Welcome Brett, Hopefully someone will be able to help you wth your question. How many acres and on what road?

petej; you are probably right about Halcon missing out on the Vista deal. Seems very plausible. As for Mercer. there are three major players there and a lot of their holdings are intermixed. Atlas had wells all over the county. So did East. It will take a lot of horse trading to put together all the units. This means that if the wells now being drilled turn out to be good producers, then companies will be willing to sign more outliers to help build their positions.

Greeting folks!!

My name is Brett and I have property in Hadley. When we signed with CX/Halcon back in June we had a defunct well on our property that was in the process of being plugged and the lease surrendered. Long story short ....the surrender of the old lease was recorded on Sept 6....... Halcons Title search report was completed on Sept 4...... Even though I stayed on close contact with M&P during this process somehow we fell through the cracks and received a notice of title defect and Halcon's nonpayment. Since then we have obtained all the documentation of title search from M&P and sent them a copy of our O & G Lease surrender. M&P says that we have to go through the Due Diligence process again and Halcon claims that may take several weeks. Most of my neighbors have been paid already so I am feeling pretty confident Halcon will fallow through with us. Now Shell has been talking with us since they have found out our property is free to lease. Any thoughts on this from any of you would be appreciated. Thank you
