Comment by Samuel J. Orr on October 18, 2012 at 7:33am Unless there are other new permits for Mercer County, total Horizontal permits in county now total 15. Since Halcon bought Carrizo, the list is as follows: Halcon: Total 5 (1 in Greene & 4 in W. Salem); Hilcorp: Total 4( 1in Pymatuning, 1in Delaware, 1 in Lackawannock, 1 in Wolf Creek); Shell Total 4 or 5 ( 1 in Delaware,1 in Fairview, 1 in Lake, 1 or 2 in Mill Creek); Chevron 1 in East Lackawannock). I am going to recheck this but think it is close. My list includes necessary permits applied for before driller applies for well permit so a search of just well permits will yield a slightly smaller #. I invite correction of errors which I may very well have made.)
Comment by JREwing on October 18, 2012 at 4:52am Well, I can add one little thing... Besides the two Swepi wells I posted about yesterday in the General Shale forum, there is another that I missed because it is actually the oldest of the three wells permit-wise. Location is Lake township; a few miles south of Rt 358 and immediately east of I79. Well name is Shannon. Interestingly enough, if you plot the 3 wells on a map, they form an almost perfectly straight line in a SW to NE direction.
Comment by Samuel J. Orr on October 18, 2012 at 2:55am Why is this Mercer County site so quiet?
Comment by Samuel J. Orr on October 16, 2012 at 4:14am See Halcon/Carizzo transaction. Halcon has purchased Carrizo's interest in 19,000 acres in Trumbull, Mercer and Crawford Counties. See main page and featured discussions. Story October 16, 2012 in the Business Journal.
I saw today that they are widening and paving Rogers road from 158 to the construction site.... looks like about 6 inches of blacktop... will be a heavy duty road for sure.
Comment by Wayne Anderson on October 8, 2012 at 8:54am Don't know for certain how many wells or laterals but there is a large Chevron sign and a lot of activity like Rick said on Rogers Rd about 3 miles out of Mercer just off Rt 158. My property is a mile away but I signed with Hilcorp. Most of the property around me was leased by Atlas (Chevron) back in 1991-92. Maybe Chevron will swap leases with Hilcorp??
I also think Chevron is putting a huge site on rogers road, just off rt 158. I heard 4 wells with four laterals from each well... havent heard of such a thing before... could be viscious rumor?
Comment by Kathie Elliott on October 7, 2012 at 8:31am Where is that in relation to rt.62 and I 79?
Comment by david stover on October 7, 2012 at 5:36am Just heard that hilcorp is going to be putting a well near rt. 62 and bend rd.
This is near Flynn Tires. A guy I was talking to said that he just go the info in the mail from hilcorp on Friday.
Comment by Oliver Perry on October 2, 2012 at 7:29am Now that's funny, at least you haven't lost your sense of humor.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
