Bob, I heard over the weekend that they are flaring the McGhee well(s), but I haven't been out that way myself. I did confirm that the McCullough well has been fracked. Apparently Chevron is now trying to get ROW's to tie into the Hilcorp Pennant line. It hasn't been flared yet that I know of.

Did they ever flare the Mcghee well yet?

The fire wasn't the actual well. It was a tanker on the well site. Shouldn't affect them at all.

I hope the fire doesn't affect Hilcorp much. If you guys in Mercer county don't know, Hilcorp has 3 big rigs working or being assembled in Lawrence county that I know of and heard there more rigs coming. Also have a pilot rig drilling.

WTF- what's interesting is that Shell has retained most of their Mercer county Leases outside of extremely SE Mercer County. Must be a reason why??? Most of the Rex deal was Butler Lawrence and Beaver counties. Maybe Jim L. can/will add more.... Word has it that Chevron is planning a pad near Bend Rd which may explain some of the recent leasing activity. Still seems to conflict with the Hilcorp James well. Tonight's McGhee well fire may set Hilcorp back some...

John, I don't know for sure but my guess is they are planning more wells at the McCullough site. Chevron is very quiet about their future in Mercer County. They hold more leased acreage than any other company working in Mercer County and most of their leases are held by production so they are not in any hurry to start a major drilling program. Their goal was to complete a five year exploration program which is only in their third year. I think we will have to wait at least two more years before we really know their future plans. Due to the large amount of land they have leased in Mercer and surrounding counties could have been a deciding factor to Shell in selling their leases.

WTF- what do you make of the recent Chevron leases (this week) in Jefferson and Lackawannock TWP's?

WTF: precisely what I think. They knew what is here but had to verify the potential ethane supply for the cracker. Rex got a sweeeet deal in return for being a future main supplier of raw material for the cracker. I believe Hilcorp is in on the act as well. IMHO this development will only bring wealth and prosperity to us all! Exciting news!
