You have a point Gas Heir. I checked our lease and it does not show any new transfers, BUT is it because of the sheer volume of leases to record? I sure hope you're right.

JR- can you add anything about this?

Does anyone think that they may not have sold the leases but maybe just partnered with this company? When I look up people that have signed with hilcorp, it does not show that they are held by Carlyle like it usually does when a lease is sold.

Does anyone know what Hilcorp did with their Lawrence County leases?
Comment by JREwing on April 29, 2014 at 12:36pm
Hilcorp has sold us out. No wonder they were leasing like crazy; to sell them to foreign investors. The document is not available electronically yet, but my assistant viewed it briefly this afternoon. Hilcorp has played us and Carlyle has helped them sell these leases (5000+) to "some" foreign investors. My guess is that Bob Rock is right on, the Chinese. This is very sad news. Thought Hilcorp was on the up-n-up compared to HK. Guess not...

The positive out of this if any is that another company bought the Mercer county lease acreage, they think it's worth something. Hilcorp might have needed to raise some money for last months big Alaska acreage purchase from BP? Didn't they spend over 1 billion for that acreage?

Found the approximate entrance for a couple of sites.  Michael R already touched on the Wengerd, but here are the GPS coordinates.  You can just copy and paste them into Google.

Wengerd (Lackwannock Twp) -   41.188663, -80.335771 with access road running north

Jorgensen (Coolspring Twp) - 41.259504  -80.208705 with access road running north

Just did a Google search of that Carlyle Energy Development OpCo.  It comes back listed as a Pennsylvania Limited Liability Company - Foreign, and the incorporation filing date was 12/4/13.

Bob -that's disappointing. I had high hopes that Hilcorp was going to drill all of Mercer County. Doesn't look like that will happen now. I guess time will tell if this is a good thing or not. I didn't find much on the internet about the Carlyle group. Seems they just became a PA registered company at the end of 2013. Are they a front company for someone else?
