Question for the masses:  I spent a little time at lunch perusing the Mercer Co. Recorders activity and there is an awful lot of pipeline ROW activity by all four of the active oil companies (Swepi, Halcon, Chevron and Hilcorp) in Lackawannock Twp. and to my knowledge there is only one well (James) in Lackawannock Twp.  Can anyone enlighten me as to what all of this pipeline activity is about when there is only one well there?  Most of the pipeline ROWs are self explanatory, but all these ones in Lackawannock don't seem to make any sense.

 new permit for Halcon Pipeline Facility Pad.  Looks like its on the Coltpetzer farm on Rt 19.  This would be very close to the property they purchased in Perry TWP.

Halcon just permitted a pipeline from the Allam well to the Pilgram well.

McGhee/Jefferson..The rig that was drilling the vertical pilot wells has left the site. Told property owner they had to go to Pulaski and drill as a lease there was about to expire. They drilled 4 pilot wells but have permits for seven. They did not say when they will return.

Came home Lamor rd in Jefferson TWP where the TGP lines cross ( Lamor parallels Rt. 62 where these lines cross at the bottom of the 3 lane hill) and it looks like they have finished clearing the ROW for the Pennant Midstream pipeline. Everything appears to be marked out and ready for pipe.

The last time I drove past the Chevron McCullough Jefferson TWP site it was pretty much empty. Just a dozer that had cleared the pad of snow for I assume the water tanks and fracking trucks.

Today's scuttlebutt:  I've heard Hilcorp is planning another well on the Sandy Lake Sportsman's Club property east of Sandy Lake.  No E&S Storm water permit has been applied for as yet, so it's just a rumor for the time being.  If true though, Hilcorp seems to be on a mission to drill wells like crazy this year.

By the way most people over that way are signed up with and have already been paid by Hilcorp. Hilcorp didn't use the mines as an excuse to "due diligence" any landowner.

I have heard no news on the Shannon wells. Generally the mines under this area are about 100 years old. When they mined the coal back then they left most of it behind as support. Under my place they are about 80 feet below the surface. I am not a geotechnical engineer and cannot even guess what that would cause to a drilling platform. I hope they find it to be of no consequence and drill.

Elnathan, I never thought about the old deep mines and drilling but there were deep mines all around Stoneboro and Sandy Lake area years ago, especially over by the area you mentioned. If it's not a meteriorite it will be the deep mines. Any news on the Shannon wells (close to both of the above)?

Lake Twp Mercer County might be getting a well between route 62 and Strausser road. Chatwick Geotechnics is test drilling to determine feasibility of a well pad. This area is undermined with old coal mines and I am told Hilcorp is concerned about stability.
