Comment by bville on August 27, 2012 at 10:51pm Thanks Philip, I'm glad its not a title issue. I wonder if they are cherry picking what they want??
Comment by Philip Brutz on August 27, 2012 at 12:59pm bville I am sorry to hear about your lease cancellation. CHK has record of doing this very same thing in other plays.

I hope that this turns out to be good for you and that you get a better lease with another company.
Comment by bville on August 27, 2012 at 12:40pm If you have a lease with Chesapeake and haven't been paid? Good luck! DPS Penn told me if you don't have a clear title to your land you are not getting paid. This includes a mortgage!!! I received my letter on August 12 which said my titled failed because of my mortgage. I contacted their Belmont County landman and he said its not the language in it, just that I have a mortgage. He also said they are not leasing any more land in Belmont County. He stated that their are a 100+ leases that will be canceled because of this.
Comment by Poison Ivy on July 2, 2012 at 4:19am Geez Scott, that is too bad. What will you do about the mess? There are so many people in Harrison County and Belmont that have these $5 an acre leases(5 yr term) that are due to expire this year and next. I wonder if Oxford is going to do this destruction to all of those landowners, too? Has anyone heard of Oxford letting these old 5 yr leases expire and the landowner signing on with someone else at a much higher lease per acre?
Comment by Poison Ivy on June 29, 2012 at 9:51am Another lawsuit involving Oxford and 3 brothers from Belmont County. See link http://www.farmanddairy.com/news/belmont-county-three-brothers-suin...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
