Shower Bath, You're the one who has been doing most of the "heavy lifting" on this site for some time. I commend you for your posts!
I just checked the price of crude which is now north of $66 a barrel. My royalty payments have more than doubled over the past 3 months. I believe the price of oil will continue to increase to $80 at which point there will be resistance. The impending Saudi Arabia IPO is the major dynamic controlling oil prices currently.
Here's a recent article from eia on the Utica and Marcellus:
That is a substantial increase in nat gas production. Also Shower I think you are spot on with your prediction 2 years ago as they are suppose to be drilling two wells in our area this year upcoming year as wti rises near $60 mark
The Ohio DNR posted the 3rd qtr. production results.
Here's a link you might find interesting. Most all of the drilling has moved south to Belmont and Monroe counties where the dry gas sweet spot is. I don't look to see a return to Harrison Co. until oil prices move to the $60-$70 range or until the Cracker plants are built to handle the ethane.
The Ohio DNR has posted the 1st qtr. 2016 production report. See the link, click on shale tab and then well production tab.
Josh, I and two other neighbors with the same CHK lease received the second bonus Christmas Eve or more than three months before it was due.in April. There was no prior notice or contact from CHK. The early timing may have been motivated by tax reasons but that's only a guess.
It was a most pleasant surprise last Christmas but having heard all the terrible stories about CHK shorting royalty payments I'm hopeful they sell my lease to a more honest producer.
Josh,
We are in Stock, next to Archer, about middle of the twp. Lease w chk 5 yr period expires this coming October. Haven't heard anything from them and actually do not until we get much closer to the lease renewal date. Will reach out to you if/when we do.
Peter, thanks for the info as we are not that far away from each other. Did they wait until the last day? Or did CHK contact you before lease was up? Just curious
I have chk lease, five year primary term expired in April, that was extended three years for the same $/acre as the primary term. I'm located in the northwest corner of Nottingham Twp. Some of my neighbors have leases with Gulfport and Ascent that are being extended.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
