I have a question,  I can see the Buell # 1 drilling rig from my property.  It is probably just over 2 miles away.  Do you believe whatever they found under the rig would be the same under my property ?  I have been approached by Kenyon energy on leasing my minerals.  Considering my location what do you believe is a fair  price per acre and royalty percentage ?

Dan ,  Thank you for the info.  That is great info.  It's nice to have folks on the site with good info to keep us informed.

Consol Enegry hit a 200 ft bed of Utica at a depth of 8450 feet near Barnsville so the Hanover Ridge well should be about on target.  Hopefully the Hanover Ridge well will find the Utica as thick or thicker.  If we are lucky Consol will report their findings on their next production report to share holders.

Scott, Go to http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/OHRbdmsOnline/WebReportAccordion.aspx

click on "reports" then click on "permit and plug list" then for "application issued date" select "greater than" a date such as 1/1/2010, for county select Harrison and for Township select Archer. Then click on the "report" above your input info. This will bring up a permit for NORTH AMERICAN COAL ROYALTY CO BUELL #1, OHIO BUCKEYE ENERGY LLC. You will see two permits, the first dated 11/17/10 for the vertical well and the second, an amended permit dated 12/23/10 for going horizontal into the Utica. The acreage was bumped up from 40 to 177 and the depth is now at 8411 vs 9003 for the vertical hole to the Trenton. The nearly 600 foot differential suggests a substantial Utica formation.

Dan ,  How far along is the well now ?  Where did you get the info on the new change ?

That well that Chesapeake/Buckeye Energy is drilling off Hanover Ridge has changed their permit. They have decided to go horizontal now, and it will be into the Utica shale. So now they have increased from a 40 acre to a 117 acre drilling unit. Since they haven't even reached the Utica yet, they must feel pretty good about their prospects.

Where did everyone go ?

I haven't had any direct contact with Wishgard, but from what I understand they are signing on landowners who potentially will get about $1850 an acre if Whishgard is successful in marketing the land as a package deal to an oil company.

I've heard that alot of landowers in Monroe and Belmont counties have signed leases with them. However, this doesn't mean that an oil company has actually purchased the lease from Wishgard.

Wishgard has 90 days or more (depending on what was stated in the lease) to market the property. If they cannot get an oil company to purchase it, these landowners get nothing.

This information may not be entirely accurate. These are just things I've heard. We know of several landowners who have signed with them. Hope this info is helpful.

Cheryl, are they a leasing agent for another company?  In looking on the internet they appear to be in the Machinery and manufacturing business?

Just courious, when someone new shows up:)

TO ALL VIEWERS:  PLEASE VISIT THE LINKS BELOW MY TEXT

For your viewing pleasure, and education.  I found this all just by searching online trying to educate myself on all the risk associated with drilling on our family farm.  I know this is one sided but what an eye opener and a lot of questions to ask any one wanting to lease our properties.  This is about an hour long documentary on the potential of polluting water supplies in and around drilling. VERY WORTH THE TIME TO WATCH   I am only posting this for  your review and hopefully get some great responses.  Myself like everyone else has to put our water supply first before signing bonuses, royalties and the signing of a long term lease.  Please let us know your thoughts on this, and hopefully we get some responses from landmen and oil and gas companies. PLEASE DON'T SHOOT THE SENDER....ROD
