Rod, My mistake, you are right it is Lake road. I drove past the well today and found you can get a view of the site from Rt. 58.

Zigo well on Valley road, Jefferson Twp. Hilcorp has been hauling in equipment to this site all week and it looks like the big rig is about ready to start drilling. Very hard to see the pad from the road but you can see the top of the crane above the tree tops.

JohnL, Bob Rock and everybody else..

There are some plats listed on the DEP website that show the lateral directions.  Go to this link:

http://www.depgis.state.pa.us/PaOilAndGasMapping/

Once in, I usually check:

Well Designation: Unconventional

Well Type: Select All

Well Status: Select All

Submit Request

Now use the mouse wheel and, for example, zoom in north of Mercer and find the green dot between rt58 and South Lake Road.  That is the Zigo pad.

Now look at the top of the map.  There are a bunch of symbols.  Click on the i in the middle of a blue circle.  This sets the current tool to Identify.  Now left click on the green Zigo dot, and a box will open.  If a pad has multiple wells, there is a drop down menu at the top of the box you can click and it will show the wells on that pad.  Click this and lets choose the Zigo 5H.

Now take your mouse and scroll to the bottom of the info box for the Zigo 5H.  At the very bottom, you will see Authorization Documents --> Click to display documents.  Click that. Then click View Documents in the next two boxes, and that will open the well permit which has the well location plat about 1/2 way down.  This will show you the top hole and bottom hole location.

Another option I like is to the very left.  When you first enter the page, the selection is set to tasks.  Click the Other Map Layers box.  Scroll down and select Well Pad Access Roads and well Pads, and it will display those on the map.  It won't actually show the entire access road, but where the site entrance is.

Hope this helps.

Oil F  the 12-1/2% you speak of is a mere pittance.  If you truly believe the small landowners of the Appalachian region are 'strong arming' you have your head in the sand.  For years Big Oil has held the US population hostage, generating billions (yes billions) in quarterly profits at the expense of the little guys and we could do nothing about it.  Now they are being forced to deal more fairly from an educated group of landowners and will have to find a happy medium and negotiate in fair/equitable fashion.  I don't know who your allegiance is to, but I'm guessing you're employed by and or own a fair amount of O&G stock, because you sure don't see the inequities.  I laugh at your comment about 'strong arming' the oil companies...   get REAL !!!    The O&G greed factor is why they pulled out and go after the easy pickings and uniformed.!!!
